I love Ashworth College. They took my transferred credits without a problem. Now it has to be a class that they offer, with a passing grade, and not an old class from a decade ago. To the people who are frustrated:I have one question, did you ever call to talk to them or did you only send emails? Is it truly fair to bad mouth them if you never called them to complain or ask a question. To the people considering them:There are ALWAYS two side to a complaint or story. The books are real books except where an ebook would work fine.

I was weighing between Ashworth, Penn Foster and New Charter University (used to be Andrew Jackson) and at the end I really wanted to do Ashworth undergraduate certificate in hotel and management. I sent them an email asking if I could pay them any other way beside using credit cards (cause I don't have any) and I received a reply that's so obviously computer generated calling me dear perspective student and saying it's from "Ashworth" at the end of the email. The email answered nothing of my question and instead, it was telling me how I don't need to have certain SAT scores etc, and how Ashworth believes everybody deserves to have access to good education despite what scores they got, etc. Duh. How am I supposed to enroll if they're not helping me out on how to make payments. I haven't enrolled and I'm already very unhappy. On the other hand I sent an email to New Charter asking them some questions and they answered straight away and even asked if I need any further assistance. It seems that New Charter is a much better quality education provider who doesn't just get your money but also provides you with the education and service your money deserves! SO I think I will be enrolling with New Charter instead. (Note: Penn Foster never answered my email)

I would not recommend this school to anyone. The class work is way too easy, they place you on hold over the phone for like 30 minutes, and they are only concerned with your money. My employer wouldn't even accept my credits. This school is a joke.

THEY ARE CHEATERS...STAY AWAY!!! I joined their online high school. Even after paying the fee in full, I got access to only 2 course. When I asked in their student portal, some body answered that their system is not designed to have more than 2 course open at a time. When I called, they "explained" that if I want all the courses open, then I have to pay for the text books ($500+), and the system will "miraculously" allow more than 2 courses open. Since I do not see this information anywhere on their website or student handbook, I will consider this as cheating. I cancelled my enrollment, and lost $275 in the process. But I am happy to be out of their cheating hands.

If you aren't 100% certain, don't take anything from them. I have to pay 190$ just to cancel the class I'm in. I got the books AFTER their grace period, which meant I was fully enrolled before I even had the trial packet. It took them a month to get it here, and that's how they get you.

I was looking into attending Ashworth for the IT program, if you know anything please let me know, it sounds like a good school

Tried to get information from the school regarding their late 2011 tuition discount, and they wouldn't budge unless they called them up and gave them my personal info. Ashworth might have good programs, but I'd have a tough time enrolling with any school that would have a hard time answering such a simple question.

I am currently enrolled in Ashworth for a Management Degree. I am very impressed with the materials and knowledge I have gained in the short time I have enrolled. I am doing so well in my classes that I am excited to do my exams and study for my classes. Please take out the time to visit their website and look around and read some of the information. It will help you to make a great decision to determine what school will work best for you.

Recieved degree from Ashworth College. Applied for Engineering Technician position with very well known technical company."Texas Instruments". Not only did I get the job offer but I forgot to mention that T.I paid for it. I have worked for this company for several years. They had no problem accepting my degree. My wife also earned a degree from ashworth and the U.S Army accepted it for OCS. They are also paying for her Masters. The degree matters but companies/military also take a close look at the type of person you are. I have no regrets about attending Ashworth. My advice, If your parents can afford to pay for major university, go!!! If you have to pay and cannot get scholarship or grant, Ashworth is a great alternative. I believe Ashworth is a school but it's for continuing education , it's good for people who wants to refresh their minds who are already working not for people who wants to start their careers. You can't take the tests, finals , & exams at home without supervision , come on people .. Anybody can take the exam for you .. You need to be trained & understand .exam of 10 questions ?? You call it exam .. Wow .. You guys are being indenial 'n it's sad! Go to the real school if you need to start your career!

I enrolled to Graphic Design career course on Nov-2010 and finished it on Jul-2011 it's a complete RIP OFF!! they teach you with old books and very basic stuff that people won't use it anymore on the software! I learned nothing I can't even design a basic thing! they never answer your emails and when you call they put you on hold for 30 mins! it's worthless I feel bad when I see my diploma on the wall and don't know anything about graphic design! I can't even apply for a job cause ain't got enough knowledge on the software like Photoshop Illustrator and In design! just so you know that I used to study allot for it but it was worthless!

I graduated from Ashworth's teacher assisting program in 2011. I would have to say, it was a eye opener.
I never realized that, so many teachers did not have a fundamental understanding of emotional development.
I even recalled many times in my past, where the teacher disregarded key principles.
I would have to say, it was a great program. Sept. 13, 2011, 4:50 p.m.
Hello, May I know did you receive all your books in one shipment? I am going to take Early Childhood Education BA courses so not sure how real is Ashworth college... Need help from you friends..only

I enrolled in the 8 semester Criminal Justice program and only completed the first semester. The coursework was very informative and challenging but the school is IMPOSSIBLE to contact. I had a question about something and I called and left messages, sent multiple emails, used the helpbox link from the student portal and NEVER got a response from any of them. I switched to a local community college as I feel it's worth the small amount more to have people available to answer questions.
March 30, 2011, 12:49 p.m.
I graduated in 06 In computer info. management, but never really needed the degree anyway. I just wanted to see if I could complete something like that, and I like computers. One thing that came from it is that, both my son's can't wait to go to a college someday, and their both honor students now in high school, and both getting open house letters from Duke ,and other top colleges. This is quite a thing for my family, since no one else every graduated college, it's time to turn things around for my roots.
March 27, 2011, 9:28 a.m.
Ashworth college is real cool. my parents wanted me out of the house so i talked them in to getting this course for me; but it was to hard so I contacted ashworth and they said dont worry about it, just ensure your payments are on time and we will get you through it. your the coolest ashworth!
March 24, 2011, 9:51 p.m.
I work in Govt and enrolled in Ashworth and am very pleased. I do not have time to go to a Brick and Mortar school. I have had ZERO probs with school, the course work is challenging and the tests are not easy. They give you 5 hours for the proctored semester exams and believe me you will need every minute. I like the study method of the courses because after you do the lessons and take the exams you actually end up reading the material TWICE. This school is not a scam check the accreditation here www.detc.org. Go Ashworth!!
March 22, 2011, 2:43 p.m.
Do not go to this school. The service is bad and they cancel you from the program just because you asked for another program from another department! They do not seem to care about you losing the initial deposit and in my case $415. The autopay dont work and you can be slapped with a $5 fee which is not even your fault to begin with. To add insult to injury, they ask you to pay another $50 for cancellation fee!!! Misleading information and incompetent staff. Avoid Avoid Avoid!
March 21, 2011, 11:49 a.m.
Ashworth College has never answered a single e-mail of mine since I enrolled. I think this is a big scam!

I have just finished my Bachelors in Criminal Justice from my local regionally accredited university, but I have a friend who enrolled at Ashworth College to complete her high school diploma. I have got to tell everyone that's out there thinking that the work is so easy and that Ashworth is just a diploma mill that they are incorrect in their belief. My friend has been stumped on her assignments several times and has came to me for help, but it was so hard that even I couldn't help her. And no i am not some stupid person. As a matter of fact I have been accepted to and will be attending law school in the fall. I do not see why people want to downgrade a college that is in my opinion definately worth the money because their students are being pushed and actually learn something while they are attending.
March 10, 2011, 12:39 p.m.
Ashworth College is a diploma mill. Summit your ashworth credentials to a respective employer or current employer and the chances are, other than calling their bogus office number, nobody is going to do a thorough background check into them.
Feb. 26, 2011, 8:58 a.m.
I have read numerous posts about Ashworth College, both good and bad. I was a Military Police Officer, County Police Officer, Federal Police Officer, and now Investigator. I have taken a total of six courses with Ashworth College and have been no less than pleased. I conducted an extensive background investigation on Ashworth College prior to attendance and found that this school has a very good reputation worldwide. This should put some peoples minds at ease. The school is legit and is an official college, not a wannabe. So people can stop saying a real college will not accept transfer credit from Ashworth. Ashworth is a real college. Regarding transfer credit, the fact that Ashworth College and Penn Foster College are nationally accredited does not matter. I recently tried to transfer 78 credits from St Leo University to American Military University toward my bachelor in business and AMU only accepted 51 of the 78 credits. All 78 credits were business classes, so why didn't AMU accept all 78 credits? Both schools are regionally accredited! People, its because every individual school has set transfer credit policies. Also, both of these schools accept Ashworth and Penn Foster transfer credit. When I was a Federal Police Officer in Washington D.C., Ashworth and Penn Foster have gotten a lot of Federal employees promoted to 100K job positions. The fact of national accredition means absolutely nothing, as long as they are accredited and list on the U.S. Dept of Education website you are golden. Penn Foster Career School is regionally and nationally accredited. One day Ashworth and Penn Foster College will have regional accreditation. This will result in higher tuition rates. Penn Foster and Ashworth College are educations best kept secrets so it would be wise to take advantage of what they have to offer. In regards to the quality of education from Ashworth, I have received nothing less than quality up to date text books from well known publishers. When I do my online work at St Leo University, the class begins with an introduction of yourself to your online class. The next week you will post a weekly discussion question and respond to 2 other students. The next week you may have an open book quiz or have to write a 2-3 page essay. Then at week 8 you take a final open book quiz, pass and receive your 3 credits, simple as that. Not very hard huh! I have taken classes at Ashworth that I had to read the entire textbook to find answers that I had to put 2 and 2 together and some classes make you write extensive essays. Ashworth is not as easy as people think. The work is very stimulating and challenging. The professors are kind but tough, and yes they do have real professors. One kicked back a 3 page Criminal Investigation essay and made me rewrite it. Ashworth has exceeded any and all regional coursework I have taken.
Sept. 30, 2011, 9:06 p.m.
You need to go to the real school.. Ashworth is not supposed to be accredited ... How can you take the exam & final at home .. Be realist here.. This school is for continuing education period .. Get yourself robbed

I am currently enrolled for Veterinary Assistant and i am having some mixed feelings about this place. before i signed up i did all my research and decided this was going to be my best value being a poor 21 living on my own. im actually disappointed because in New York state you need to go to a regionally accredited school and have a license to be a vet tech. however, from what i was told almost any other state will accept this degree as a veterinary technician. The material is very contradicting and they leave tons of important information out, like the signs and symptoms of any disease. i think thats kinda important. not to mention all the typos in the book. Ive been enrolled for about 6 months and i will finish this course in 4-6 more weeks. I have only had one bad experience with customer support. Someone told me that there was a grace period of 28 days and its really 10 days and the late fee is $7.00 and they refused to waive the fee. when i have questions about something i use both the community forum and phone to compare and sometimes the people on the phone are completely clueless about the information. Im starting to kick myself for not going to a community college.
Feb. 22, 2011, 7:35 a.m.
I completed high school with them with no problems and I am now working on my associates for paralegal studies. I decided to go to ashworth because I had such a great experience with them before. Before I made it official with Ashworth I did check out Nashville State Community College, Volstate, and ITT Tech. I decided that instead of applying for a loan and being in debt before I even find a job that it would be wiser for me to attend the school that I can afford. I also spoke with all the schools that if I did decide to further my education and transfer credits to them that they would take it. I have also talked with some layers and I was told that there wouldn't be a problem for me to get a job at a law firm as a paralegal and that I could start looking once I hit the half way mark with my studies. Online education isn't for everyone. Just because its online doesn't mean that you get an instant answer, or that your books just appear. No Ashworth isn't paying me to say this as I have seen that some of you think that some of the positive comments are from employees of Ashworth. I am not saying that there probably won't be a time that I may not get speedy service from them but I understand that I am one student of their many. However, when I do receive and answer, it is very detailed and helpful. I'm proud to say that I will be an Ashworth College graduate in 2012

Great program! You cannot beat the price. I was recently promoted in rank to due my degree. Money well spent

Anyone considering an NA degree program must understand that the majority of RA universities will not recognize the credits and degrees earned at an NA institution. Therefore, research this very carefully before attending an NA university. If you plan to attend graduate school at a RA university after earning an undergraduate degree from an NA university (for example) I would recommend that you contact the universities you are considering for graduate work before attending an NA university. You will find that there are some (a few) that will accept NA credits/degrees but the majority will not. That is a simple fact of life! The reason for this fact is that RA universities do not feel that NA curriculum is equal to RA curriculum.
Feb. 5, 2011, 12:03 p.m.
How do you rate a degree from Ashworth College? It's all in the name people. Ash = worth College is not supposed to be easy and you should not get a bachelors degree in 1-2 years, unless you are one of the country's top students. Colleges are supposed to be challenging students and if you cannot step up to the challenge of a real education then you should not be receiving a degree of any type. Any employer that would reimburse you for attending Ashworth hasn't actually taken a look at the school. It is actually scary to know that people could actually get jobs with an Ashworth degree knowing full well that they are not actually qualified to perform the job functions on a degree from Ashworth. Thanks for dumbing down our country, Ashworth College.
Feb. 4, 2011, 9 p.m.
I am a student @ this school. Depending on what goals you are trying to obtain ; will determine your success rate. I have 2 semesters left for a BS !! My employer (AT&T) deems ASHWORTH good enough to qualify for tuition reimbursement... that says a lot .... I am taking my degree to Ashford university (regionally accredited) for my master's ..
Feb. 3, 2011, 7:29 p.m.
To those who say Ashworth is a scam, read the fine print first. If you get %25 of all courses done you have to pay %25 of the course payments + other fees. 75% it requires you to pay full tuition cost, and other fees. READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE Enrolling. I am currently enrolled right now, and personally I can't Wait!!
Feb. 1, 2011, 2:36 a.m.
BUYER BEWARE! I highly advise you all to avoid this 'college'. I dug and didn't have to go deep to find out this is a scam. If it sounds too good to be true than it probably is. I spoke to the sales rep at Ashworth who told me that with my 'life experiences' I could have a degree in less than one year. Any college that tells you life experiences can be used as credit is just a 'Diploma Mill' and other colleges, universities and employers know it. The Better Business Bureau warns against schools like Ashworth. Look at their YouTube video regarding this: watch?v=461OADLIWy4 If you go to the Better Business Bureau and look up Ashworth you will see they have hundreds of complaints, but retain an A+ rating. This is deceiving and Ashworth knows this. The BBB rating is based on how they handle complaints, so do not let that fool you. If Ashworth responds to a BBB complaint in a timely manner and offers a solution that seems to meet half-way, they will retain the A+ rating. You can hope that an employer won't know about Ashworth or check into it, but remember that all they have to do is quickly look up this so called college on the internet and see how easy it is to get a degree there. I work for a Fortune 500 company and if I were to present an Ashworth degree to them as credentials I would lose the respect of my employer and possibly my job. That is not an exaggeration. Just check your local community college for online classes. They are usually inexpensive and will likely transfer to any respectable 4 year university.

I feel this school is great . If uncle sam will pay for it. It must be ok. Our troops can attend this school with any issues. The VA notices and approved this school for our soliders. Some people like to talk bad about this school becuase in my opinion they failed in completing the course and now this is how they deal with it. Stop your crying and move on!!
Jan. 23, 2011, 1:16 a.m.
I was interested in Ashworth, but the lady I talked to on the phone said they do not accept transfer credits into Ashworth. It sounded like I was asking a crazy question when I received the ladies answer. I already have an A.S. degree from an RA school but seeking a different degree.
Jan. 20, 2011, 12:21 p.m.
Unless you are absolutely sure you want to take a course do not sign up. I called within the 5 day guarantee money back as posted on their site and they refused to refund my deposit and are requesting additional funds. I have to contact an attorney for assistance. Make sure you want to take their courses. Students answer the phone, and you are pushed into signing up right away because the reduced rate may expire that night. Be careful before you do anything with Ashworth.

Hello, My nam is April, and I'm currently attending Ashworth College for medical billing and claims. I started the program 11-02-10, and I have already completed most of the program. I have researched online to see if anyone completed there program at a quick pace. It's not a hard program, and it isn't easy either. If anyone has completed there program in less than 4 months, it would great if you would post. This lets me know that there are people who learns at a quick pace, and studies a lot.
Dec. 22, 2010, 12:56 a.m.
Ashworth requires you to put your head down and force yourself to keep moving forward. You are your own teacher and must motivate yourself to move, even when frustrated, or you'll never get through it. If you can do this then you will do well at Ashworth. Degrees that I hold from Ashworth, Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Associate in HR Management and yes my credits earned with Ashworth did transfer to both regionally and nationally accredited college I attended. Good luck!!!
Dec. 16, 2010, 4:35 p.m.
Do not use Ashworth if you are serious about your education! First, they re NOT regionally accredited. NO COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY WILL ACCEPT ANYTHING ASHWORTH DOES DUE TO LACK OF ACCREDITATION MUCH LESS AN EMPLOYER. Second, once you figure this out and stop payment, they try to collect a 'cancellation fee'. It was sent to the credit reporting agencies and I contested it successfully.
Dec. 18, 2010, 12:07 a.m.
Sorry, but I know of Ashworth graduates who have succesfully applied Ashworth AS degrees toward Bachelors' degrees at RA colleges. Please preach your FUD elsewhere.
Oct. 24, 2010, 12:46 p.m.
I too must be lucky. I have never had a problem with Ashworth. I am just finishing my Associates in Business Management. All courses have been on time. Emails answered promptly. I call by phone a lot as well. Usually the longest wait is 8-10 minutes. I think Ashworth has come a LONG way with their stuent services and phone support. I have had a few issues and they were always resolved with a single phone call. Also, my employer recognizes my degree for promotion, so overall I am very satsified. I will be starting my Bachelors very soon. Also graduationg debt free is a big plus.
Oct. 16, 2010, 9:08 a.m.
I must be one of the lucky ones, never really had a problem with Ashworth. Courses are always on time, all emails are replied within 3 days and I learned early not to bother calling. Which I have never really needed a reason to call them, its all self explanatory. Ashworth gets my vote.
Nov. 1, 2010, 4:49 p.m.
I enrolled and changed my mind within a matter of days. Somewhere in the agreement stated that I could cancel within five days of registering and get my money back. This could be done by phone or in writing but they prefered writing so I sent three emails. Then I called and the lady I spoke to said she would cancel my registration and I would get a refund in 2-3 days. After that someone responded to my emails and apologized for the time it took. I got my refund and Ashworth got their materials back. Hopefully this is the end of my experience with them.

I am wondering if anyone else has taken the Pharmacy Assistant course at Ashworth?? If so, how was it, and how was your job search afterward??
Aug. 24, 2010, 5:23 p.m.
I attended Ashworth for one semester and was able to transfer my credits to a community college. I am about to enroll again in a bachelor's program at Ashworth, mainly because it's so affordable. If you receive a degree from Ashworth and want to continue your education elsewhere, try schools like Thomas Edison State College. Their online courses are all 12 weeks and it is very easy to transfer credits to Thomas Edison. I have always found faculty at Ashworth to be very friendly and patient.
Aug. 18, 2010, 7:53 a.m.
Ok... stop asking if you should enroll or not. Trust me don't. No matter what anyone says. All you will hear over the phone are lies that never end to get you to make a payment and then you are stuck. Here is my story. I enrolled for the 2 year program in criminal justice 3 days ago and I was very anxious to get my books and start. I asked the person I spoke with on the phone if I can transfer my credits over and continue my education elsewhere and he said yes. I asked would I be able to get a job with a degree from them after I graduate and he said yes and they will help me fill out a resume... well today came and I called ALL the colleges near me and none of them accepted the transfer. I also called and checked my future employers if they would accept a degree from Ashworth and I got a NO. From 6 differant cities. Hmmm... so if you still think you should enroll... DON'T.

Does Ashworth still mail out a hard copy of the semester exam to my proctor? I took a long break from my schooling and when I decided to finish I went to the website and noticed that my proctor will receive a code that needs to be put in for me to complete the semester exam. Is the whole exam online or do they still send out a hard copy and I will just put the answers in online? Thanks for any help.

"Hello everyone, I just want to clarify that Ashworth College is an accredited college this is not a worthless paper like some of you just mentioned. I was working for McDonalds as a supervisor, and as soon as I completed my BA in Management at Ashworth College, they promoted me as a General Manager with a very good salary." Seriously guy, do you want us to laugh you out of the website? Go to Burger U. to get your promotion. ROFLs!!

Hello, did you get all your books at one shipment? do you mind explain more about your study experience because too many scary stories so I am afraid to join. Do you mind take photos of your books and yourself to prove you completed the courses? I am so keen & interested but scary stories are making me more nervous.

I am thinking about enrolling with Ashworth ans was wondering if anyone has taken the Gourmet Cooking & Catering course and could possibly tell me about their experience with it. I did graduate from H.S here when it was called James Maddison and they were good to me and I'm hoping that I get the same experience that I once did. Please email me mrwllew924@gmail.com

When I asked them if I could "drop out" of their school they told me I had to pay $75 dollars to do that. Why? They got a good business plan going there, I should try it. Make up some website claiming to be a school and then charge people to drop out of my sham school. If I got $75 dollars out of everyone who figured out I was running a sham school plus keep all the money for the outdated, cheap books and crummy "courses" I could get rich awfully fast. Teresa I really do not think you should continue with Ashworth, they will take your money and give you outdated materials to read. I went to school as a single mom (4 kids, working full time) way back when. I just did it part time, it took longer but I had a heck of a lot better chance of getting a job. It was hard but well worth it in the end. You could possibly be eligible for free financial aid, the income limits are not as low as people think they are. There are grants, scholarships, some employers will help pay or reimburse as well. Also so many regionally accredited school offer online classes, so if getting away from the house or work is hard you could still take some of your classes online. You want to graduate from someplace that has regional accreditation, that is what employers look for. Employers are not dumb they know the difference between regional and DETC. There will be people that will hop on here and start insisting that Ashworth is accredited but it is not the kind of accreditation that employers look for. I think some people got lucky and maybe found a job, but I believe it is a gamble. It was my own fault for not researching beyond the school website and their forum. I got ripped off. No college I have called will accept their credits, and I called alot. I am filing a report at the BBB and just to satisfy my own aggravation file another report on Rip Off Report!

I have just recently enrolled with Ashworth, and the more i read the more i wonder if i made a mistake. I enrolled for the pharmicist technician program, simply because i already work with medicine's, single mom can't afford to sit in a class all day, and i truly believe i would be great at my job. But i question, will this even get me a job?, or will i waste time and money for in the end and get nothing?

This School will not answer any questions you may have with your studies, trust me I know because I got stuck on something but no one bothered to answer my questions. The study materials are cheap black and white print with plenty of tying errors and illustrations that are not clear. It probably cost them 5 dollars to print out each lesson. If you want them to contact you all you have to do is make a payment late. They will call you until your phone rings off the hook. Their only concern is the money they collect. I sent them tons of e-mails to cancel my course but they ignored all of them. Think twice before you sign a contract with these scam artist.
June 27, 2010, 4:20 a.m.
ASHWORTH COLLEGE IS A SCAM. I talked to an ashworth "sales representative" on the phone for three hours. I was assured that I could pay on a monthly basis and I would get the materials in the mail. I was also assured that if I could not pay I would stop receiving materials and I could drop the class and owe nothing to Ashworth. Well I paid the first month, received a book and never took any tests or classes online. I called and told them I could not continue with the classes. I reiterated that If I decided later to continue with online courses I could start back up at any time or not. I asked if I was under any contract or would be billed. I was guaranteed that if I stopped paying I would stop receiving materials and that would be the end of it. "NO STRINGS ATTACHED". LIES, LIES. I offered to send the books back since I hadn't taken the class. No, they want money. Now I get harassed with bills through the mail and phone calls. SHAME ON YOU ASHWORTH. So now I will probably have to take this issue to small claims court.

Ashworth is a joke! Penn Foster was better than this ridiculouos vocational/college school that they preach,,,go figure!
June 15, 2010, 4:26 p.m.
The only school that accepts Ashworths' worthless degrees are University of Phoenix and Everest University. And both of those schools are crappy and worthless.
Sept. 13, 2011, 4:41 p.m.
why only these 2 University accepts?
June 8, 2010, 9:17 p.m.
@Curious: I have not taken the home inspection's course, but I did graduate from Ashworth with an AS degree. I think you would learn something from the course materials, which would benefit you if you are planning on being a self employed home inspector. However, Ashworth's reputation and lack of regional accreditation will not earn you anything when applying for jobs with prospective employers. Ashworth has hundreds of BBB complaints against them and this has tarnished their reputation.
June 7, 2010, 3:34 p.m.
I just spoke to an Ashworth representative about the home inspections course. She told me it would cost only about $350 dollars and that she would take $10 for me to start immediately. I am currently a college student with one degree and working toward my Bachelors degree which I will have completed in 2011. I am very happy with my experience at University of Phoenix. But I was wondering about the home inspections course that Ashworth offers. I'm very reluctant right now. I've read too many scary stories. And I don't want to be another unsatisfied student.

I think Ashworth college is a good school because i see people get job at frist when i enrolled i taught it was not a good school.but now i think it is ok.

Rose Marie is full of crap and you can be sure that the people who have positive things to say about Ashworth are most likely their "employees". Don't listen to her. Your chances of getting a good job with a piece of paper from Ashworth is highly unlikely. They are making me pay to be removed from their "school". Most all of their courses are extremely outdated, look at the website, you will see for yourself that they are trying to teach people things that are 6-7+ old......
May 15, 2010, 5:47 p.m.
Rose-Marie will never answer you! Why? Becuase it is B.S.!!
May 14, 2010, 7:09 p.m.
Rose-Marie said: "I have applied to 3 different REGIONALLY acredited schools for my MBA and all 3 have accepted my NATIONALLY accredited B.S.B.A degree." I would love to see that list of three R.A. universities that have accepted her into an MBA program. That way I can contact them and ask them myself if they accept degrees from Nationally Accredited schools.
May 13, 2010, 11:39 p.m.
I find that hard to believe! Please provide us with the three names of the universities that accepted your Bachelor's from Ashworth.
April 3, 2010, 7:22 p.m.
I have just completed my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Ashworth. Ashworth is DETC accredited and recognized by CHEA. I have applied to 3 different REGIONALLY acredited schools for my MBA and all 3 have accepted my NATIONALLY accredited B.S.B.A degree. Overall I would give Ashworth a B+ based on my personal expierence and the level of education that I have received. Credits that I earned from a brick and mortar regionally accredited school transferred in to Ashworth. The text books are form a leading publishing house, current and relevant. Custormer service has come a LONG way since I started at Ashworth. Using the online student forum gets a quicker response than actually calling the school. They offer graduation ceromonies once a year for those students that have paid in full and completed their degree. For a working professional who needs to finish their degree I believe Ashworth is a quality choise!
March 27, 2010, 12:34 p.m.
Has anyone completed the Veterinary Assistant degree? If so, have you gotten a job with it? Alot of people seem to be complaining that you can't get a job with a Ashworth degree.

Has anybody tried the electricians course
Feb. 9, 2010, 8:14 p.m.
I completed several Ashworth certificate courses when they were PCDI and am currently enrolled in Ashworth's AA in Criminal Justice. The courses are simple enough and have no complaints about the course materials themselves. What I do agree with are the negative comments on this site which are so true! If you call the school, be prepared to wait for a live person for 30 minutes or more, which is so ridiculous and unprofessional! I've been waiting while writing this and hearing that my expected wait time is 5 minutes(for more than half an hour.) I have to see what's going on with my course materials which, of course, I still haven't received. Bottom line is what do we expect? It's an online college degree. You get what you pay for in life! But they sure do take your payment immediately, don't they? I hope I haven't made the wrong choice of attending this school as a college! I've heard there are other ones out there that are much better, like Phoenix, etc. Any comments out there?
Feb. 2, 2010, 6:58 a.m.
Ashworth College is an excellent choice for those working a full-time job that can't physically attend a traditional college. I earned two Associate's degrees from there. One in Business Mgt. and the other in Retail Mgt. They even helped me get where I am today. Ashworth is nationally accredited by the Distance Education Training Council which is registered with CHEA and the US Dept. of Ed. I was able to transfer about 75% of my courses from Ashworth to a regionally accredited college where I am working on my Bachelor's degree. You also can't beat the super low tuition. I graduated 100% debt free. In fact, I had both degrees paid off before I finished the courses! A++

Can I use their degree to get a job at Taco Bell?
Jan. 11, 2010, 7:38 a.m.
Trish, Ashworth's lack of regional accrediation may make finding a job with their degrees next to impossible. I have an AS thru Ashworth and it has yet to pay off. There is a regionally accredited school that offers an affordable alternative at Ft. Hays State University in Hays, KS. Their on-line courses are affordable and high quality. They are a little more expensive than Ashworth, but it is because of their accreditation. Classes are $500 per course and they have a wide array of different Bachelor degrees you can earn on-line. I cannot post their web address due to this forum's restrictions, but you can Google them and they will pop up. Good luck.
Jan. 10, 2010, 5:28 a.m.
ok- so I understand your credits can and cant be transferred, that's not what I am worried about, My big question is that if I go to this school for Health care Administration, Do I have a chance in getting a job??? I will go all the way to a Masters degree if I have to. I am a single mom with 3 kids who doesn't have the time to go to the local college 4 times a week.

"Jeff Wrote - So please don't listen to people out there talk about you can not transfer Ashworth credit to any Regional University. I am not going to waste my time to tell people what school to go to." - If courses at Ashworth college were ACE approved, more regionally accredited colleges would transfer these courses. It is much easier for a student to transfer ACE approved DETC courses to Excelsior College or any other regional accredited institution. On their forum, Ashworth claimed to have ACE approval. I checked with ACE and that is simply not true. I don't know why Ashworth is dancing around the issue when students ask questions in regards to ACE course approval. Get the darn courses ACE approved already. A DETC college with a similar business model is ahead of the game with ACE course approval.

If you're one of the numerous former students who have been wronged by Ashworth College please join my face book group and post your story to the wall. Facebook Group Name: Ashworth College - The lowest grade in online schooling. Warning: Ashworth College enlists many of its staff to write these positive reports you're seeing. Ashworth College has wronged hundreds of students, the evidence of which can be seen throughout the web in Ripped Off Reports, Pissed Consumer post and most other forums with any kind of online education association. Yet they continue to operate without consequence. They maintain a significant student base that remains ignorant of these transgressions, most by choice, and who can blame them? We love the idea of what Ashworth offers; an affordable education we can obtain from the comfort of our homes while working full time. Naturally a majority choose to look the other way while a consistent percentage of Ashworths student base is brazenly misappropriated, ignored etc. After all, they're not the ones who have been mistreated... I seek to enlighten those who have not yet suffered the emotional and financial hardships so many of us have endured at the hands of Ashworth. So please, put ink to paper or in this case, finger to key and tell your story, who knows... someone might be reading.

I applaud the success some of you are having with your Ashworth degrees. It is great that some of you have been able to transfer credits, obtain Bachelor degrees, get jobs and other feats with Ashworth credits. However, I also graduated from Ashworth with an AS in Criminal Justice with a 4.0 average and no one I have ever encountered has given me any credit for my Ashworth degree. I have yet to find an affordable and reputable regional school that will take transfer credit from Ashworth. If anyone has any advice for me in this area, please let me know. Best wishes for continued success to everyone here.

I am a graduate of Ahsworth's A.S. Psych program, and I was able to transfer the degree to the U.S. Sports Academy (regionally accredited by SACS)toward their bachelors program. I finished my Bachelors back in July. I am now a teacher at a public High School. Remember, you get what you pay for with Ashworth. I am considering their Masters program.
Nov. 13, 2009, 6:52 p.m.
I have associates, bachelors and masters degrees from major regionally accredited universities. I am enrolled in a para-professional program at Ashworth and have been impressed with the course content and materials. Concerning accreditation and acceptance of academic credentials, keep in mind that, historically, regional accreditation (i.e., SACS) has been the primary measure of acceptance of academic credentials. With the advent of distance learning, organizations such as DETC have evolved, offering national versus regional accreditation. Generally speaking, if you are looking to transfer credits to a regionally accredited school, you might have difficulty having a nationally accredited program accepted. Having said all that, Ashworth seems to be an excellent value if you desire obtaining a substantive college education. Moreover, I'm aware that many of their programs have been developed by, and are overseen, by professionals with solid career experience - not just academics.

I have interesting in getting into the respitorary therapy program. I am curious, do you have to find you own clinical site? I live in Dallas, could any help me? Also, what is the tuition and hrs required? Thanks.

My daughter took medical transcription through Ashworth. She had a good experience with the school and recommended it highly. I am currently enrolled in Health Care Management and I do not anticipate any problems, but time will tell. I do not plan to transfer any credits. If I change my mind, I will be sure to check transferability to other schools. As with anything you invest time and money in, be sure to check all aspects of any school to see if it is the right one for you. GOOD LUCK!

So your point is what...Kenn? It does not matter how challenging the work is and it does matter if CHEA recognizes DETC accreditation, unless of course CHEA is going to employ us and/or personally convince other colleges or employers to do so. The issue is not about how challenging the work is!! MOST employers and colleges are concerned about the accreditation. Who knows why or cares why but that is how it goes! Does anybody understand ANYTHING??

Response to Geanna Bell. 1. What the heck is a foot pedal?? 2. You asked> Do they not have any proofreaders or anything there? my reply> yes. Good day!
Oct. 16, 2009, 5:20 p.m.
I just wanted to let you know that I am enrolled in Ashworth's Medical Transcription program and am having trouble with the foot pedal not being compatible with Vista. I am just getting the runaround from Ashworth, who will not do ANYTHING about the foot pedal. I am thinking about going to another school to get my medical transcription training because of the huge runaround I am getting with Ashworth. Their third book had a lot of errors in it. Do they not have any proofreaders or anything there?

Ashworth University is a business, just like any other college or university. I attended Limestone College, a private liberal arts school in South Carolina for about three years as a student in Psychology utilizing their online campus program. The college is regionally accredited and they have been around since the 1800's. A sound quality education indeed, according to accepted standards. However, when it came to administration, they had the exact same problems as Ashworth University and exhibited these same problems on a consistent basis. In addition, my tuition was approximately 5 times that of Ashworth University. Attending any college, you must remember that if it is important to you, ONLY YOU can stay on top of it and get people off their behinds to accomplish whatever tasks you need allowing you to move on to the next level. Education aside, this is how the real world functions. Ashworth University is nationally accredited by the DETC, which is recognized by CHEA. Their courses are challenging and you can learn a lot. Education, when it comes down to it at the college level, is up to the individual. Need I remind some folks that we have world leaders who have attended some of the most prestigious universities and graduated with honors? However it is often apparent in their decision making that education was of little value to them. As for regional accreditation, in my experience the accreditation at that level does NOT insure any type of quality education. Heck, I have researched schools with NO ACCREDIDATION of who actually have programs far superior to universities touting regional accreditation.
Sept. 29, 2009, 10:29 p.m.
The high school might be fine....it is REGIONALLY accredited, the college courses are NOT. Anybody wanting online high school should check within their own state, it is free in most states. I can think of 3 schools right now in my state that are 100% free and they are in the regular school district. I would never recommend online high school for able bodied students because it is HELL. It is FAR harder than one might think!
Sept. 26, 2009, 5:39 a.m.
i was thing of taking the vet asst course. has anyone had a problem with it? I'm also checking other online courses i just want some feed back from this school
Sept. 22, 2009, 5:01 p.m.
I called them about a month ago and asked for some reading material about the school, read it, visited the website and called them today. The person on the phone seemed really eager to just have me sign up for my program of interest (HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA) But I said that I didn't want to make a decision so fast and that I'd have to call them back. I'd like to find out more about the diploma they give. Has anyone here ever enrolled in their High School Diploma program? I already have 20 out of 24 credits needed to graduate and don't want to redo all high school classes. I'd also like to use this diploma to maybe enroll in college in the future (is that possible) Please let me know fjm.santos@live.com
