Description
The Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts prepares students for transfer to four-year liberal arts programs. In the core general education courses, emphasis is on major fields of academic inquiry, approaches to creating knowledge, important developments in these fields, and implications for decision-making in private and public lives.Students build on this foundation and prepare for continued study in a major by completing nine (9) additional credits in an area of concentration. Students may choose options in: child development/ child care, education, history, humanities, literature, music, pre law, psychology, social science, social work, sociology or studio art. There are separate catalog entries describing course requirements for all these options and students should refer to the appropriate pages of the catalog for direction. If they choose, students may also create their own area of concentration by working with an advisor to select three or more courses.
