The online Master's Degree is designed for computer professionals who desire to update or upgrade their computer knowledge, or for those who want to enter this profession. The online delivery of the degree is for those students who find that coming to campus is impractical, but who want a high quality graduate degree.Coursework in the program includes the areas of software engineering, and parallel and distributed processing. The program allows participants to remain current in these rapidly changing fields. Students who did not major in Computer Science as undergraduates will be required to take some distance-delivered 'bridge" courses to build their skills before beginning the Master's program.Degree Requirements At least 39 credits are required to complete the degree. The following minimum conditions must be fulfilled:24 credits must be earned at Colorado State University. 20 credits must be formal, upper division courses (500-699). Students may complete a Plan A (thesis) or a Plan B (project or paper) program. Up to 15 credits may be transferred from other accredited schools.Admission Requirements General Graduate School admission requirements and procedures are outlined in the Graduate and Professional Bulletin, available online or from the Graduate School. The following criteria are used when admitting students to the degree program:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of a 3.0 grade point average on undergraduate coursework. Three letters of reference. Professional experience. Leadership potential. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score, unless you qualify for Track II Admissions. Technically, it's a not a master's of science degree (MSCS) but a master's (MCS).
