DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
April 29, 2012
I recently withdrew after seeing for myself how poor CSU is in education quality and level of difficulty. No job recruiter should take this place seriously. All tests are OPEN BOOK! The whole curriculum is based on you writing short papers. Like others that have commented, I feel that this school is a waste of time and money. The instructors are mostly "adjunct" professors, they are part-time and lacking the experience that is necessary to ...

CSU Degree Opened a Door
October 1, 2010
I just graduated Columbia Southern University in August of 2010 with my BS in Environmental Management. I placed my resume online and within a month I was offered the position of Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator for an energy company with a starting salary of $70K. I have attended other online school programs that cost twice as much as Columbia Southern University. The education I received from CSU was at times very demanding, quality focused ...

Very disappointed with Columbia Southern

I enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management program at Columbia Southern University. I withdrew after three classes and a TOTAL waste of my money! The quality of the courses and instruction were far below par in comparison with other schools I have attended. I almost felt that it was a joke. The questions on the tests seemed to be written by someone that doesn't have English as their first language, and the ...

Genuine care for my success

Having obtained my Associates Degree ten years ago, I desperately wanted to complete a Bachelor's degree, but was very afraid to do so. What if my online skills were inadequate? What if I had waited too long? Would I be too 'outdated' to pick up where I left off? All of these doubts clouded my vision of achieving my dream. I decided to take the plunge. I contacted this school and immediately my fears were ...

I am currently working on a master program with CSU because of my experiance wth the institution. I have recommended CSU to colleagues seeking to ...

Isn't a federal accredidation better than a regional accredidation?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with CSU. The service from the staff and professors has been outstanding. Every time I have contacted CSU through phone or email, the response has been prompt and helpful. I work for a Fortune 500 company, and the degree is recognized for promotions and job placement. The courses have been engaging and educational. They are not "selling you a degree". You will have to earn your grades, but you have a lot of support from staff and other students should you need help. I was also able to transfer a great deal of courses (95%) from when I earned a degree at a local institution. CSU gave me credit for what I have done. Other online schools would not transfer nearly as much, thus greatly increasing my overall cost. In my experience CSU has always had a "Students First" way of dealing with things.

This school is NOT regionally accredited, nor will it ever be if you consider the lack of good professors and the remedial curriculum at the bachelor's level. I withdrew from this school like some others that have posted. I admit that enrolling at Columbia Southern was a major mistake, and I advise anyone thinking about going here to look elsewhere if you want to have a real degree. I have already located several other schools online that are regionally accredited and are affordable. Also, don't always look for the cheapest school. The old adage "You get what you pay for" came true for me at Columbia Southern. Walmart-level degree programs at this school!

Columbia Southern is a reputable and engaging educational institution. Any one that says a degree from CSU is no good, is an ignorant fool. I only pity the people who cannot accept change and innovation. The fact is...Columbia Southern University is changing lives!

I highly recommend the Bachelor of Science, Environmental Management Degree

Extremely difficult and in no way an accelerated course. Plan on spending at least fifty hours per a three credit course. Questions asked in course are not easily answered and most often have nothing to do with final exam. The old saying tell them what you want them to know, tell them again and tell them what you told them does not apply to this college. Learn it on your own, read it, read it again and then take a jeopardy style guess best describes CSU. Classes won't transfer to any college with regional accredidation, They are nationally accredited by DETC. Look before you leap, because this will be the only place or other nationally accredited institution where your credits will transfer too.
