Description
Currently, almost all of the courses for these post-baccalaureate programs are offered either as internet-campus (through ECU Department of English) or internet online (through ECU Continuing Studies). Even if a class is classified as "internet-campus" and offered through the English Department, it is normally web-based, totally or primarily online with one or just a few face-to-face classes. Students often do not need to move to the Greenville area. However, those living in the area can participate in face-to-face activities such as the frequently held technical and professional communication seminars and the ECU Student Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication functions. These programs at East Carolina University provide students with theoretical as well as practical knowledge of professional communication. They learn about the influence of emerging technologies, techniques, and processes on communication.Courses: (non-thesis, 33 s.h.) For both the non-thesis and thesis options, at least 18 s.h. must be at 6000 level. Also required are comprehensive exams as well as computer portfolio or foreign language.
