The Master of Arts in Education in Health Education is designed for working professionals seeking advanced certification in classroom teaching and is the only program leading to "M" licensure in health education in North Carolina. The academic program is a 36-semester hour program consisting of a 12-semester hour Education Core and a 24-semester hour Health Education Core. The Health Education Core includes an internship that can be completed without leaving your present position. *Education Core: EDUC 6001, SPED 6002, SCIE 6500, ELEM 6550 *Health Education Core: HLTH 5310, 6000, 6100, 6200, 6201, 6355, and 6400*Internship: HLTH 6990 and 6991Admission: The Graduate School makes the determination of eligibility for admission to the graduate program. Acceptance into the Health Education Program is determined by the graduate faculty under the guidelines established by the graduate faculty of the department. The graduate school admits applicants only upon issuance of a formal letter. To be considered for admission into the graduate program, a student must present the following qualifications: *Possess a baccalaureate degree from an institute accredited by a regional association*Have either an overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work or a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in either the undergraduate major or work taken during the senior year*Satisfactory scores on either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)Application: An application is required for admission to the MAEd graduate program.
