The ECU School of Industry and Technology has been delivering internet-based instruction since 1995. Hundreds of students worldwide have completed online courses at East Carolina University. Now, this experience is being applied to benefit undergraduate students. The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology transfer program is similar to a 2 + 2 program designed for students who have completed a qualified associates in applied science degree in industrial technology or closely related field and who would like to complete a Bachelor of Science.All required industrial technology courses are offered entirely over the Internet. These courses are delivered in weekly units allowing the student great flexibility with regard to time and place. The online program currently has an emphasis in manufacturing. Once an approved AAS degree has been completed, a student is eligible to enter the online BSIT. In addition to the online courses offered, a minimum of 33 semester hours of general colleges requirements and cognate course work must be completed at a four-year college or university.Students must take ITEC 3000, Internet Tools Technology, as a prerequisite to all of the courses in the curriculum.
