The MS Degree in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, delivered via distance learning strategies, is designed for the individual who holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology (or has 18 semester hours of undergraduate prerequisite courses), resides in the continental United States and, because of the distance (more than 50 miles), is unable to enroll in our on-campus program.Admission Standards:Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or have an undergraduate degree in some field and have at least 18 semester hours of undergraduate prerequisite courses. The usually acceptable areas (not necessarily by course title) that the undergraduate courses must be in are: Anatomy&Physiology of the Speech&Hearing Mechanism, Child Language Development, Phonetics, Acquisition and Development of Articulation and Phonology, Intro to Audiology, Intro to Aural Rehabilitation. They must total at least 18 sh. Course descriptions for our undergraduate courses in these areas can be found at: http://www.ecu.edu/undergraduate. Beginning the Fall semester of 2003, we will begin offering Introduction to Audiology and Introduction to Aural Rehabilitation as Distance Education courses. We will offer additional prerequisite courses beginning Fall 2004.Admission Procedures:Candidates for the MS Degree must meet the University's Graduate School and Department's Admission Standards. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for consideration. Completed application (i.e. GRE scores, Official Transcripts,&3 letters of Rx) must be received at the Graduate School by Feb. 1 in order to be considered for the Fall class! (No admissions are made for Spring.) Initial review of applicants will occur in early Feb. Later applicants will be reviewed until class is.Equipment Requirements:We highly recommend using a high-speed Internet Service Provider. If there isn's a high-speed Internet Service Provider in your area then CD-ROMs will be mailed. The CD-ROMs are designed for use in multimedia PCs with the Windows 95/98 or higher platform. Minimum system requirements: 200-300MHz or faster (preferred); 128 MB RAM; 200 MB free space; sound card and speakers; 56 Kbps or faster modem; Internet Service Provider (ISP), and web browser. They are offering masters and doctors programs for SLP. Very expensive though, it all adds up close to $90,000.

Looking for a graduate profram in SLP. My undergratude grades are not that good. Willing to take courses on-line to enroll in the graduate progrm. Please help. I currently work as an assistan SLP
