Description
The BSBK program is a 72 semester hour 2 + 2 degree program for students who have completed their general college requirements at a community college. Course work focuses on the typical and atypical development of children from conception to age eight. This program requires a series of field experiences. At the end of the program, you are required to participate in a supervised internship (student teaching) in a public school setting. Meeting requirements and competencies for teacher education as specified by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is required for licensure. After successful completion of all program requirements, you will receive a BK license. For admission and retention in the BK program a 2.5 GPA is required. Students interested in BK are encouraged to declare this major upon entering the university to ensure continuity of advising.
