The program is designed as a completion program for individuals with an associate degree or for those who have completed sufficient college transfer hours to be considered for entry into the degree track. Individuals who are working to balance family and career demands, unable to attend class on campus, or who just could not seem to find time for school in the past, can now finish an undergraduate degree online.This part-time program is offered by East Carolina University on the Internet. The bachelor's degree program builds on the first two years of coursework available through the community college. Although this program assumes an associate degree, an option for those with as little as 24 transferable degree credits is available. Those without any college credit may apply to the community college of their choice to complete general education requirements.The BSBE in Information Technologies degree program is a natural progression for students coming from community college programs in business administration, business technology, and administrative office technology. The program is most ideal for individuals with an associate degree or for those who have completed 24 transferable degree credits. If a student has not completed an associate degree or is lacking required freshman or sophomore courses, they have an opportunity to take those classes concurrently at their community college while participating in the BSBE degree program.An array of core major courses is offered each semester including summer semester. In conjunction with the core content courses, one other required course (such as English, management, psychology, etc.) may be provided each semester by other ECU departments.The program is designed to take advantage of internet technology. Multimedia enriched courses are delivered via the internet for virtual interaction. The primary internet tools used include a web browser, an e-mail server, and FTP server, and a streaming audio/video server.
