The Certificate in Tele-Learning is designed to provide interested individuals an opportunity to learn the basic principles of distance delivery of classes, to manage distance-delivered classes, and to evaluate their effectiveness. The instruction for the certificate courses is internet-based. Students do not need to be on campus for this program.The Certificate in Tele-Learning requires 18 hours of internet-based, online coursework.EDTC 6010 Introduction to Instructional TechnologyEDTC 6050 The Internet: Organization, Design, and Resource DiscoveryEDTC 6060 Using the World Wide Web for ResearchEDTC 6300 Introduction to Distance LearningEDTC 7310 Instructional Strategies for Distance LearningEDTC 7320 Web Teaching: Design and DevelopmentAdmission standards:All applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional association and have an overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work.Admission procedures:Complete the Application for Admission to Graduate Instruction and return it with (1) one copy of your official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work (sealed), and (2) three letters of recommendation from persons who can attest to your academic competence or ability to do graduate work. Application packets can be obtained by calling the Graduate School at 252-328-6012. Satisfactory completion of either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is required. A student holding a masters degree from an accredited university is exempt from the entrance exam.
