The Website Developer (WbD) graduate certificate program provides experiences as a website planner, developer and manager. Hands-on experiences using industrial standard software is provided through our virtual server lab.Fifteen hours of internet-based, on-line graduate coursework are required for the WbD certificate.DTEC 6800 - Internet Research Methods is taken in the first semesterDTEC 6815 - Network Media ServicesDTEC 6825 - Dynamic Web ServicesDTEC 6835 - Enterprise Web ServicesDTEC 6845 - Website Development* Add DTEC 6855 - Networked Commerce Systems to meet the SACS 18 hour requirement.* The courses are scheduled to allow completion of the certificate program in 18 months.* Transfer hours are not accepted in the WbD certificate program.* An overall B average is required in all coursework in the WbD program. Two C's result in dismissal.* Software, and electronic materials will be required for coursework in the WbD.All courses are offered on-line with no on-campus residency required.ADMISSION STANDARDSAn applicant must have a B.S. degree from an accredited institution and have either an overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work, or a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in either the undergraduate major or work taken during the senior year.ADMISSION PROCEDURE* Complete the Non-Degree Application for Certificate Programs and return with: one copy of official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework (sealed) along with two letters of recommendation from persons who can attest to the applicant's academic competence or potential in the Computer Network Professional environment.* Completion of a standardized examination, such as the GRE, is not required for admission to the WbD program.THE FINE PRINT* Admission to and completion of the WbD certificate program does not supersede the admission requirements to a degree program at East Carolina University nor guarantees admission to a degree program. Concurrent work on an M.S. requires admission to the M.S. program.* Requirements for the WbD may change without notice.
