Fantastic!

I am presently a student at ECPI- Virginia Beach - Online Campus, and I have to say that i'm impressed with them. I am seeking a BSBA and have received tremendous support from everyone. My only complaint would be the financial aid person (A.S.) that I have to deal with. In my opinion, she should not be in that job because she tends to come off as rude, unhelpful, unwilling to explain things, and is ...
ECPI Richmond - Not so Good. Goto a Real School...
April 24, 2012
Got my 35,000 dollar sheet of paper a couple of years ago. The Innsbrook Campus is a joke. The Virginia Beach campus is about 10 millions times better, but I was only at VA beach for some auditing. They do have 2 or 3 good teachers at Innsbrook, they rest were awful. Most are like read the text book, do to problems, go over answer key...Have a question, if it is not in the book ...

I hate when people assume that the only reason you have complaints is because you were not a good student! I graduated with a 3.7 GPA with great attendance with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice Technology. ECPI had great teachers but, the books were included with your tuition so there is no way for you to shop around for cheap used books (that it unfair). Next, they make you sign an arbitrary agreement so ...

This school was a waste of time. Do not get caught up being in it, esp the Charlotte Campus. There is so many lies and lack of telling you things, and once you get in this program you cannot get out. I advice you go to a whole other school for this one will make you wanna quit...waste of money and a waste of time. Plz trust me!
Awesome School!!

It’s a pretty good school. As long as you stay awake and study it’s a cakewalk. Or at least it was for me. Job placement afterwards, in the IT field, was awesome. Not sure about the medical side as I am a computer whiz. Dave had me an interview setup during my internship. I was finished in June, 2010 and had an IT job less than a month later. I have absolutely no complaints with ...
I had a great experience
September 24, 2011
I am very satisfied with my experience with ECPI online. They may not accept all of your credits, but that is because you ONLY have to get 120 credits to get your BS degree, not 180 like Kaplan or UOP, so there aren't as many classes to compare for. You can go to other places and get more credit, but I bet the cost will be more! For the cost, the services, getting help finding ...
BS CIS Network Security
July 8, 2011
Materials were paid for in my tuition, but ECPI has apparently changed that and now tuition and books are separate. Some of the books were the study guides for certifications (A+, Security+, CCNA) which helps set you up for taking those test as well as getting your degree. Most of the teachers were good and helped out the students whenever possible, even late at night; others were only available during "office hours" and not on ...

You are responsible for your own well-being and it is foolish of any of you to demand success simply because you sat in a chair, in a particular building, with a particular instructor. Get real. You do not need a degree to find a technical job. Try your hardest to find SOMETHING related to your degree while you are studying. Volunteer your services; you will gain invaluable experience as well as something to put on your resume! If I were looking for an aspiring IT professional at any level I wouldn't even regard a resume that simply said "Bachelors Degree in XXXX"... especially with so many opportunities. Read, learn, explore, experiment, try, fail, try harder, and most of all don't lose your spirit. This field is rewarding for those who are loyal. In conclusion, I am sure I have angered some but please do not take this as an insult. The world of Information Technology awaits you all! For those of you interested in a local society (Norfolk, VA Beach, VA area) there is a society starting up around the end of this year. AMCISP or the Association of Military and Civilian Information Security Professionals. You can email pdunn_99@hotmail.com for further inquiry. Some people aren't made for the IT world. IT isn't to be taken lightly and a brief college encounter won't prepare you for much if anything at all. I have been an IT in the Navy for 3 years now. I currently am the Information Systems Security Officer on board... a position usually held by someone far higher rank than I. Prior to the USN I worked civilian sector for two years as an intern for a NFP company in Boston, MA. Those two years were my only prior IT training seeing as how I started ECPI (online) shortly after exiting training in Pensacola, FL. With regards to the profession, it is a fast paced and evolving world. Unlike many collegiate programs which do not change from decade to decade, the IT profession changes constantly. If you are not willing to commit to a life of study and hard work then you need to seek entertainment elsewhere. If it's one thing I cannot stand at work it's IT "professionals" who are here to simply collect a pay check. IT takes a natural affinity towards mathematics, science, and other broad studies as well as the dedication necessary to be the best. As for ECPI (COT) I have had a decent experience, neither great or poor. You have to put in the extra study to get what you need. They will provide you the basics but that won't get you far. As of this post, not very many colleges are offering degrees in Network Security, which is one of the fastest growing professions. In this particular instance (I cannot speak for their other programs)their programs are ground-breaking in a new and undefined field of collegiate study. I haven't had any issues with their staff what-so-ever. Being in the Navy (at a sea command) I often encounter problems. I am currently deployed and was scheduled for a class that I would not be able to complete (due to bandwidth reduction) and even though their policy states that internet connection is the responsibility of the student, they made a huge move for me and ultimately won my undying respect. They took me out of the two conflicting classes and talked with me about how it was possibly too late for them to put me into any other classes (this being my own fault). I expected to be suspended for the semester and resume school upon return. To my greatest surprise, the department head for CIS stepped up and offered to hold a class with me as the only student in a subject that would require less bandwidth. It was because of his undying devotion to education and the student body that I am able to continue school on this deployment.
