Everglades University Reviews:

Best Overall Experience

My first suggestion would be to only take seriously the reviews of individuals who have actually attended this school and have gone through the complete process through graduation. The reviews of those who have not attended this school or who have uninformed views of the curriculum are not legitimate or fact-based reviews. Take it from someone who has completed a bachelors degree in Alternative Medicine and knows that the information you learn at this school is second to none. This school has the best of everything. I attended another online school which did not compare to this school on any level. The staff, the instructors, the director of student services, the academic and financial advisors, the associate deans, the dean are absolutely outstanding and are deeply invested in the personal development and academic journey of their students. The classes are a bit rigorous and intense at times but you learn A LOT. I, for one, enjoyed the challenge. The extracurricular activities such as student government and leadership distinction are well developed and truly enhance the academic experience and make you feel like you are a part of something greater within your program. Like anything else, your education will be what you put into it and at times, you may hit bumps in the road. Everglades University makes it clear that you are a priority and your success and advancement is their intent. They will support you and encourage you right through to the end. I would recommend this school over and over again!

Avoid at All Costs

I hope someone will read this. I hope they will take this review very seriously. Do not attend this college. I recommend moving on right after you read this review. Their accreditation aside, Everglades is a complete insult to the many hard-working students out there pursuing a recognizable and worthy degree. I began the process at Everglades as a Construction Management student thinking that I would come out of the program learning something new and better prepared for the work force. This was not the case. Every test was open book with a time allowance that far exceeded that which was necessary to complete said test. You could go through the program never once cracking the book, do the very minimal discussion work, and take their mediocre exam and make straight A's. Let's be honest guys, as difficult as college can be at times... No one wants this. Why not just pay for a degree and call it a day? I eventually wrote a long letter to upper division faculty and was point blank in my accusations. I told them they should be ashamed to put themselves in the same ball park as well respected tenured teaching professionals across the globe.

EU is a bad idea getting worse by the year

The school and its policies are based in greed. The only thing that matters to the people running Everglades is getting as much of the students' money as legally possible. The school has hidden tuition in the form of "Ed Fees" which come with no itemized explanation and which are $800 per semester on top of the already exorbitant tuition and a multitude of other hidden fees. The instructors are average at best (some are really good but most are not) and many of them don't know what the heck they are doing and can’t seem to use a computer worth a crap. The online platform is boring and many classes are a complete mess. They school seems obsessed with surveying students yet nothing ever seems to change as a result of the surveys. Everglades is just way too expensive for what you get. Let's add it up. At 505 per credit hour that's 62,115. Add in the mysterious "Ed Fees" (800 per semester) that's 8,200. Assuming one is stupid enough to buy books from the school at their 30%+ mark-up plus shipping, a conservative figure is $400 per semester (probably a lot more), so that's 4,100. Add in miscellaneous fees (they are there, trust me) and consider the inevitable annual tuition increases and we find that a freshman entering Everglades can expect to have been billed more than eighty thousand dollars by the time he graduates… and that’s if he never takes a break and never withdraws from or fails a class. The worst part is that Everglades' only admission requirement is a GED and the ability to pass an exam called the OLSAT, which you would have to be nearly brain dead to fail. So while you will be in class with a few bright people, most of them are complete morons who can’t even write complete sentences. The place sucks.

Everglades University has been one of the best choices I have ever made. It has allowed me to work full time while attending college. If an online degree is the direction you feel you need to go than EU is the school for you.
