Starting in August 1999, the Georgia Tech Center for Distance Learning began to offer the first 2 in a series of 22 graduate-level credit courses in Mechanical Engineering (ME) that will enable qualified students around the world to earn a Tech Master's Degree in ME completely online.Over the next 3 years, CDL will produce and deliver approximately 7 new ME courses online each year. All Georgia Tech online graduate courses will use state-of-the-art streaming audio and video technologies, synchronized with slides, simulations, and other multimedia, and will make maximum use of the pedagogical advantages offered by web-based courseware and instruction.
