Wish I Had Known
January 18, 2012
This is the worst experience I've ever had with an online school. I enrolled a couple of years ago, could never figure out how to get into my interactive class, gave up and enrolled in another school. I guess at some point that I accidently did get into one of the classes without realizing it because now they say I owe them $1,800.00 for classes I never took!! I have creditors calling me and it's ...

positive experience
May 29, 2011
I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I want people to see something other than complaints posted about Kaplan. If you are at least somewhat responsible, organized, and have a genuine interest in your major, then there is no reason why you shouldn't have a positive experience with this school. Financial aid can be a pain, and there are occasional technical difficulties, but both the professors and the classes offered are excellent. ...

September 24, 2010

I had to contact the Unified School DIstrict I went to which happedned to still be closed for summer school and wait till they opened to get information and submit my request. I emailed back to the person emailing me from ...

PELL GRANT BEWARE
September 24, 2010
I was not made aware of the distribution of PELL GRANT FUNDS. I happened to discover it and then when I called the person answering the phone was so rude in telling me about a form I should have filled out that I was NEVER TOLD about after lengthy discussions with Advisor and Finacial neither source mentioned the website address to fill out the necessary document for excess funds

YOUR EXPERIENCE AT KAPLAN IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT
August 3, 2010
Okay, I have spent the last hour or so reading these comments. I just completed my Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies with over a 3.0 CGPA, and my overall experience was great. My biggest problem was that most of my classes were full of idiots who didn't appear to have even completed the 6th grade, let alone high school. Doesn't anyone know how to spell, use correct punctuation, correct grammar, etc.? Sure I had a ...

I have been with Kaplan for more than 2 years now. I just changed my degree plan from a Bachelor's to an Associates just so I can get out with a degree, and get away from them. In the beginning, I received all the assistance that I needed. I always received phone calls from Academic Advising to help me in making sure I was registered in time for the classes I wanted to take. Financial Aid was very helpful as well. And then all of a sudden, I get mis-guided, mis-advised, not helped, told how it is my problem that they messed up and how it will always take 30 days to fix, and everything is about submitting a ticket. You will never speak to a supervisor or anyone of rank no matter how much you complain. I was told I do not get emails about needed documents because they are an online university. My response to them was that email was online too. In the beginning, I was told that the interest on my student loans was only 2% through Discover. That is very far from the truth. And do not think you will ever receive a copy of those types of documents, even if you begged for them. I have only one term left before graduation, and already I am getting even more problems. Documents I submitted, that were approved, months and months ago, are all of a sudden no longer approved. Or, my financial aid is always under review. I am expecting a huge surprise of receiving a huge bill if I expect to receive my diploma once I graduate. Oh, and my GPA is 3.71. I have never read any of their books, and I shop on EBay and Amazon during my seminars. I'm not trying to say I am a genius, but I deserve a lot more of better customer service and guidance from the school that is supposed to be so accredited. And every student who attends should also, but you won't. For those who posted wonderful things about this crap school, I can only assume that you have not been attending that long.
