When I transferred to Kaplan, the admissions advisor made it sound like a great school and a great program. He was extremely helpful in getting me started and things seemed okay. I am sure these people are paid extra for recruiting - just keep that in mind - it is not all happy and rosy. My transcripts did not get evaluated until after I had started classes - if this had been done ahead of ...

Kaplan has the WORST Financial Aid Department
August 8, 2011
I have been attending Kaplan for 1 year and do not anticipate continuing. The school is great lhowever, the Financial Aid departmet is the worst that I have ever seen. Financial Aid packages dont get processed timely and when they are processed, they are wrong or half processed or pell grant/loans are not processed. This is awful! When you contact the school, it is never an apology for the mistake that they have made nor ...

useless degree
March 6, 2011
Attending Kaplan's on line degree program was a good experience, for the most part. As an employee, I only paid for tech fees, some software and books, and Kaplan picked up the tab for everything else. If I made the Dean's list or the President's list, I did not pay for any books in the next quarter, which saved me a lot of money, and good incentive to keep making those lists. Other than a couple ...

Kaplan MBA - Calling All Future Executives
March 1, 2011
I received my Bachelors degree from a state school, and received a fellowship to top 25 University of Illinois' Graduate program before coming to Kaplan University....and I have concluded that the course work is challenging. One thing I can honestly say, is that you get what you put into it. The professors are demanding and engaging, and if you are there to learn...you will. In addition to becoming a Master of Business, you will also ...

Ok School, flexible fit my needs
December 7, 2010
Had some poor instructors that it was difficult to get support from. This is all ready tough online, poor instructors made it worse. Many of the instructors hampered by the curriculum and the schools strict adhearence to it. But besides that, it fit my needs. Being flexible was a big part of it and the technology is much better then many of the other schools or those using blackboard, yuck.

Not bad!

Kaplan University has been an excellent adventure for me while I am the only income in my family of 4. Anyway, the guy who sold me Kaplan University was extremely supportive. Financial Aid was a bit stressful, but we worked it out. My classes have been challenging, but I have had all A's except 1 B. In my defence the B was in Finance. I would like to address it is a little easy to ...

Financial Aid Department Problems
September 14, 2010
Your financial Aid department really needs to know what they are doing. I have been here at Kaplan for 8 terms now and every term I have had difficulty with the financial aid department. Every term there has been problem getting my money due. The fault lays within the departments errors on coding, audits or whatever excuse is new at that term. I am very disappointed in this school's support system. I am appalled that ...

Awful financial aid department. I keep getting the run around about my stipend. first it was 2 weeks then it was up to 6 I just ended week 5 and the money has not even shown on account. Yet Kaplan got their funds. I worked Financial aid for years and I know the process does not take 6 weeks + and the only reason it should be more than 30 days, If I was a first time borrower which I am not. I am an alumni of this school and would not reccommend it to my dog!!!!

I am currently in the process of enrolling at Kaplan and should start classes in November. So far I have been really impressed with the advisors and financial aid office. The entire process, from the time I began to inquire to getting registered for classes, has taken maybe two weeks at the most! My original advisor went on vacation and he even had a collegue check on my file and call me righ away. So far so good; I do hope everything stays this way!

I have been enrolled on the MBA Program since May 2009 and plan to graduate in April 2011. The work is much harder than I had anticipated, but I put in 25-30 hours per week and have a 4.0/4.0. The curriculum is definitely focused on real-world experiences. I would and have recommended Kaplan to friends and family members. However, up until recently, responses from Financial Aide advisors left more to be desired; the department is now in the process of revamping. But I haven't had any problems with my living assistance check or course payments. My academic advisor contacts me at least once during each term for feedback or concerns. Compared to my undergrad experience at a State University, the education is much better. I can honestly say that you get out of it (the coursework), what you put into it - prepare to work hard.

Like most on-line complaint forems, the accused will always supply a fake supporter with glowing, award winning endorsements of this "school". It is a business. The goal is to make money. Wether they earn it or steal it is of no consequence. They know that the average student will not have the resolve to take them on. Kaplan is part of the Washington Post news organization. They have been under recent Senate investigations for fraud. Call your Congressman for help. Good Luck

I have found this site to be quite interesting. One thing I have noticed is that there are a substantial amount of students that have put the hard work in, and ended up extremely satisfied apposed to the ones who were not prepared to do actual work. I start classes next week, and up to this point I have had an amazing experience. I did an online chat with a representative, and before I knew it, I was enrolled! Not only that the FA dept has been in constant contact with me. I have emailed a rep several times, and within 5 min I received a call back, NOT AN EMAIL. With that being said, I am impressed by the level of professionalism, and humanity I have experienced. I am more than excited to begin my lifelong goal. They have gone above and beyond to do everything for me. I find that completely unnecessary but reassuring that they care about their students. One more thing, I have seen some comments about transferring credits, and not having to take an entrance exam... I did take an exam, and they accepted my credits from previous college work completed at a different school. DEF NOT A SCAM.

The Masters Program is one demanding and incredibly well organized program. I highly recommend the University to anyone. The professors are knowledgeable, committed and demonstrate high standards, if you are seeking a quick fix this is NOT the university for you.

Plan to invest hours of study and prepare to excel after all it is a graduate program not high-school and you wont find baby sitting here. I am highly satisfied and I am learning from the best.

If you have the guts go for it.

I have been with Kaplan University for 3 years. I have a 4.0 grade point average, and have financial aid and personal loans which have covered all of my tuition, or so I thought. With 6 months left to my bachelors degree, I am now being billed for additional monies that are not owed. I have been working with both financial aid and my academic advisor, who both are dragging their feet. They admit they never contacted me for billing, and I have secured another loan to cover it, but they have not posted the money which was mailed to them November 15, 2009. Now they have withdrawn me from the school, and kept the money! Be careful, they are wonderful when you first start, but when they see the end is near, you are nothing to them as the money will soon run out. I have contacted an attorney and he states this is a great lawsuit! I am filing.

You can contact the Kaplan University CEO, Andy Rosen @ ARosen@kaplan.edu. That usually works.

I have been enrolled in Kaplan for two or three weeks! DO NOT BOTHER I AM SERIOUS! They get you in a forget about you, the academic advisor is never available I have have a week and a half past by before a response. They screw up your financial aide---they tell you how much you can receive and then never give it to you. The professors never respond to your email. I AM IN THE MASTERS FOR LEGAL STUDIES, I heard the Kaplan degrees are a joke, please be warned. I should have done my research before I enrolled, this is a lesson learned, fortunely this is only my first semester I can still transfer.
