Great Experience So Far
February 14, 2008
I am in my first term with Kaplan and have recently left University of Phoenix. I was completely aggravated at UOP and I almost let that stop me from attending any online college! Kaplan pulled through for me so far. Although I have to admit I was a 4.0 student ...

Difficult when studying IT

About the same as a physical college
January 14, 2008
I didn't find Kaplan that different from my first two years at a brick-and-mortar school. Some teachers rock, others make you wonder how they keep their jobs. Some classes have a book, others just have articles you read online. The financial aid offices and advisers may or may not know ...

Yes, I fell for it! The commercials made you feel you were joining a university environment that would work with you to reach your objective. Well, from the begining, the admissions office personnel were pushy. Real "used car sales men" attitude. They did not listen to what you said, were impatient and rude, but kept calling you until they were sure you were enrolled. The classes and the instructors were great, except for the Effective Writing for IT professional instructor who had her opinion and views on how the English language should be used, regardless of references you may send her correcting her.

What was my last straw with this university is when I signed up, it was agreed my monthly payment would be $119.00 which I paid, then I was asked to pay over $800/month. I disputed this and the amount was reduced to $405/month. Does anyone smell a rat! Something here is not right! Be careful, be very careful when selecting your online university. Be sure to do your research, background check the university, be sure to get everything in writing, don't fax anything to the university as it seems they don't know if they are coming or going. They change their personnel like they change their shorts. This university is a disgrace and really needs to be monitored and its accreditation cancelled until a full investigation is done regarding their fees. Full disclosure is what I suggest you insist on when registering.
