Description

The core curriculum of the MCE program consists of 36 credits of coursework, split in six, 6-credit seminars. Each seminar lasts about eleven weeks. The coursework is followed by a one-week residency and graduation at Norwich located in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont.

Two areas of concentration to choose from: Structural Engineering or Environmental/ Water Resources Engineering.

During the development of the MCE program, NU utilized the findings of the American Society of Civil Engineers report. As a result, the program provides a comprehensive examination of the technical side of engineering. The MCE program also addresses the administrative issues faced by today's engineers. Topics covered, therefore, range from how to perform a non-linear dynamic frame analysis to how to run a consulting office. We have combined the best of both worlds — a graduate degree in civil engineering and an MBA.

Coursework applicable both immediately and for the future of one's career. Project Management coursework prepared by Mike Puddicombe are world class. Structural analysis and steel coursework is robust. Use of technology in learning is highly effective, outclassing traditional brick and mortar education in many areas. Experience of learning with and meeting such a diverse group is truly unique and eye opening, especially through the residency and through weekly discussions. This program is truly what you ...

I am a student in the MCE Online Program. This program has taught me more in the last 8 months than I could have ever imagined. It is great that Norwich incorporates project and business management into its curriculum, as opposed to most undergraduate degrees. Most professors and staff are very prompt with their responses and are all down to earth. You must keep up with your school work though, and if you can't devote ...

I like the program and the classes. I wish that they would use videos to present some of the learning material.

Norwich is a great school. The master's in Civil engineering is worth everything. Their long tradition in civil engineering keeps improving. I have never been so challenged. If anyone is not done, then, he is likely not to be done in any other school. Their professors are just everywhere making sure you get it right. As for me, it was lifetime investment because I learnt, and the purpose was to learn not to teach based on my undergrad degree!
