The e.MBA@Pace program combines the convenience of online Internet learning with face-to-face residency weekends every 12 weeks. Students advance through the 24-month program as a learning cohort. The e.MBA@Pace program requires completion of nine large-scale projects and a series of individual learning modules, rather than traditional courses in disciplines like accounting, economics, and marketing. The projects focus on complex contemporary business issues that require cross-disciplinary approaches to solution. Working in teams, students confront a variety of issues while creating the eight assigned projects. All team activities associated with the case solution are accomplished through the use of asynchronous groupware.Students master traditional qualitative and quantitative analytical skills on a just-in-time basis as needed for their projects. This approach to education, called action learning or outcome-based learning has been highly effective in complex business problem-solving situations. The program's faculty provides individual modules to support this learning.
