Description
This 13-credit undergraduate certificate program prepares participants for a leadership role in a field that is rapidly transforming the world. The courses cover a variety of subjects relevant to the field of information sciences and technology, including the background of information science, the organization of data, the networking and telecommunications industries, and new media and the Web. The program offers an introduction to the social, ethical, and policy issues surrounding the field. Participants can further develop their skills to address issues in the context of information science and technology, such as policy making, career planning, and workforce development.

I've taken a few classes and the program definitely needs improved curriculum and instructors. It seems like Penn State doesn't want to invest much in this program. There's only one section of each course. The instructors seem to be bottom of the barrel from the College of IST. They have poor ratings from professor review sites, and rightly so. Many of them speak English as a second language,but aren't very proficient, which makes it difficult ...
