Calling it a sham is way overboard. Your experience is uncommon, if even true at all. They accept ACE/DANTES credits, the only limitation being that it has to apply to your degree requirements and not duplicate other credits. Every other school in the entire country has at least that restriction, and there are none as flexible as Excelsior. I'd venture to say that you would only rarely find a school at all that would accept your military experience for credit.

By the way, the idea that you didn't find out until after paying several hundreds of dollars is either a flat out lie or a proof positive of your ignorance. After you pay your enrollment fee (which is about the same or less than at most other colleges) they give you an evaluation of what credits they accept B-E-F-O-R-E you enroll, so there is NO WAY that there were any surprises.

You are wrong in that there are no "easy degrees," plenty of dishonest, unaccredited and illegal schools will give you a degree in anything at any level for just a few hundred dollars. However Excelsior doesn't fit into that category at all.

If they weren't the school for you... fine... but your attack insults the entire program and the thousands upon thousands of people who received a great education on course to obtaining a degree from them. I could likewise call your school a SHAM because I am sure that it wouldn't in any way fit my needs. I would advise every person to stay away from YOUR crap school because they don't have the decency to accept up to 100% of your degree as transfer credit, while Excelsior does. YOUR crap school wishes to think that my previous education simply didn't happen at all. MY school respects me as an adult and treats me as such, and would have done the same for you if you didn't throw a juvenile hissyfit when you realized that you should have read the liberal arts catalogue before you applied, OR, actually looked at your transfer credit evaluation before enrolling.

You do what you wish with your money. If you want to throw it into a wood chipper, then that is your right. It is not your right, however, to defame even the wood chipper for what you have done.

I REALLY hope you continue your education and are satisfied with your new school.

Disclosure: I am a student with them and extremely happy so far.
