GDM; There is a list of schools on the site in which Ashworth Alumni have been successful transferring credits to. That list is found at:

    w w w.ashworthcollege.edu/community/alumni/graduate-outcomes/schools/

The forums have lists posted as well.

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation maintains a database of colleges and universities at

    w w w.chea.org/heta/default.asp

These schools are open to all institutions accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (which the DETC is).

Rachelle; Posted on February 21 2010- just a quick comment about the statment "a list on the site" refering to schools who except credits from Ashworth University/College' no there is not a list on the site. after contacting Ashworth and asking for a list of schools who except credits from them, they gave me the run around and would not answer the question, to any one thinking of enrolling, do your home work. Good luck.

I have received my Associates in Paralegal studies in 2007. I am presently working on my Criminal Justice Bachelor Degree Progam. I am a flight attendant and love the convenience that this school offers. Some on-line schools are very expensive and this tuition is afforable. Also, I love the student services and the educational tutoring program.

Ashworth is great. I am in my third semester and I have learned a great deal. The way the texts are setup you actually read it twice. Books, tests showup with no issues. Customer service is good. Tuition is low and interest free. I am a cop and several other officers have signed up after seeing my books. The texts are not dated. Regional accreditation is not important to me as my job accepts these credits. Some regional schools do accept ashworth and there is a list on the site. If you need your degree this way is priceless.

Listen, Ashworth college isn't for everyone, it's accredited by three international and national agencies, Distance Education & Training Council (DETC), Council For Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and finally The US Department of Education (ED). If you want to pursue your education else where or transfer, then Ashworth College might not be for you. Some institutions or universities accept Ashworth college credits, and some don't. If you want a career in the Law Enforcement field, then Ashworth University will get you there. While there are other students enrolled in other online universities or institutions, I guarantee you, they must be going through financial and academic distress. Mean while, current students enrolled at Ashworth have no issues paying their tuition, and are succeeding in their academic careers. Five of my closest friends are police officers thanks Ashworth University. To Conclude, do your homework before enrolling anywhere!!

About to graduate with degree in cj and the military does take it and will let you go officer. Yes you can get a four year degree from a regional university if your not lazy and you actually call schools. This degree is accredited by the same people who award the air-force university and army colleges. You didnt research very far. OH yeah; any school can tell you no its their right and all they want is your money. I have been to both online school and college in Japan/Germany/Hawaii and you are wrong or lazy.

Food for thought - It's not regionally accredited. National, or DETC accredidation doesn't do much in the world of academia. If you are planning to transfer to a 4 year university. Most likely you will not receive any credit from them. When I say 4 year university, I mean a non-diploma mill (not to name any names), and all of which I have tried transfering to are state universities (within three different states) and 2 private universities. One of the private universities offered me 15 "experiential credits" for my effort put forth toward the Ashworth degree.

On a positive note: I do agree that the courses were very easy to complete, most of them were pretty simple. As long as you're reading the materials, you'll find what you need to study for the exams.

I am currently pursuing an AS in Criminal Justice. I have just completed my second semester. Being able to take your tests whenever you choose and get your grades instantly is priceless.
I have gotten a response within 48 hours whenever I emailed a question to the service dept. I have not attempted to contact any of the professors so I cannot comment on that.
The delay in shipping materials is an area that should definitely be improved. You have to wait approx. one week for each shipment.
The other area that needs improvement is the mandatory graded assigments. You have to wait at least four, yes four weeks to get your grades on the assigments and you cannot proceed in your program until they are graded. Other than those items mentioned above, overall the program is good for the cost.
