Description
The Master of Agriculture is a practitioner degree for individuals directly involved in agriculture and related industries. In contrast with traditional graduate degrees which emphasize research and are primarily campus-based programs, the Master of Agriculture degree addresses the advanced educational needs of working agricultural professionals. The degree is interdisciplinary and sufficiently flexible to meet the specific educational goals of individuals employed in agriculture. As an interdisciplinary degree the Master of Agriculture program is not housed within an individual department and is administered by a faculty committee selected from many departments. For more information, contact Extended Education & Outreach at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln by phone (402-472-5515) or by email (unlextended@unl.edu). The College of Agriculture also offers a Meat Culinology® certificate, which may be of interest to those in the Ag or Food Science industries.
A concentration in Community Development is available, as a collaborative program through the GP-IDEA consortium. A concentration in Plant Protection is also available under the Master of Agriculture program.
