Description

Welcome to PennOnline, an innovative program of courses at the master's degree level offered asynchronously over the web by faculty in Penn Engineering. This is part of a larger Penn effort to have courses available everywhere at any time. Both individual courses and courses intended for master's degree programs in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Telecommunications and Networking are under development and available for students who are unable to come to campus. They are also accessible by students on Penn's campus who want to review lecture material and obtain course material easily. Online course material typically includes syllabi and course descriptions, homework, and audio lectures. Many courses also include online books or detailed course notes. Experiments are underway during the 2000-2001 academic year in the using of streaming video. For additional information, contact Professor Dwight L. Jaggard.Students taking courses through PennOnline take courses at approximately the same time as on-campus students and will participate in course online discussions. However, the program offers the advantage of listening to course material at a time determined by the student.
