Description

The program mission of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration is to equip adult learners with a fundamental understanding of the nature of delinquency and crime, criminal law and procedure, the goals and essential components of the American criminal justice system, and to teach basic management and administrative skills to run organizations in this area. The program also strives to familiarize students with current trends, research techniques, and technological advances in the discipline. Such broad-based knowledge enables learners to understand and evaluate the kinds of societal needs and issues that are impacting criminal justice practice and reform and to become effective problem-solvers and administrators in the criminal justice community. In this context, the BSCJA program attempts to realize three major objectives:- To advance, educationally and professionally, practitioners now working in the criminal justice system. - To increase educational and training opportunities for adult learners who are interested in criminal justice professions. - To equip graduates who choose to pursue master's, doctoral, and law degrees with a solid foundation in criminal justice.
