I've almost finished my degree with Walden and it is like any other program. You get out of it what you put into it. If you're willing to work hard (as you would expect in a Ph.D. program), then you'll gain knowledge and experiences beyond belief. The support is incredible ...

I finally graduated a month ago and I must say that the program (Master's of Science in Education with Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment specialization) has been worth my time and money. I know that generally people are very skeptical about on-line learning and I do not blame them. As an ...

Great school for people who are capable of working independently and for teachers looking to expand their repertoire of teaching strategies. Do your homework BEFORE you enroll (which is where most of the negative comments come from...people who ABSOLUTELY did not and NOW they want to blame Walden for the ...

I earned my master's in Elementary Reading and Literacy K-6 back in 2005 and now they will not endorse their program so that I can get the title of my master's degree on my teaching certificate! It means nothing unless they endorse their program. All that money and time for ...

Poor service

I enrolled and had nothing but problems. Make sure you have a PC and not an Apple. Many of my problems were probably due to my computer, but considering I was paying dearly for a complete lack of support bothers me. The loss hurts, but there are times in life ...

My Masters from Walden University has been nothing but trouble. The degree itself was easier to get than my Bachelors, but the ensuing headaches were not worth it. Very few schools look kindly on a Walden University Masters in Education. They believe it to be akin to a diploma mill or some sort of 5th tier school.

I enjoyed my time at Walden, and believed I learned quite a bit, but I would advise others against getting a degree from there if they plan on moving schools. It will not be a bump in anything other than pay, and you'll never make back what you invest in getting that degree.

The MS in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment was very informative and most useful in my classroom. I especially enjoyed the Habits of Mind and Designing Curriculum and Assessment for students with special needs.I graduated Summa Cum laude.
Thank you for a great educational experience.

WaldenU is not worth it, stay away!!!!!! Any experiences you have with the bursar, registrar, computer support, advising etc or going to be frustrating. Sure, the courses might work with your schedule. However, you are going to be on the phone with some moron for weeks trying to resolve class enrollment or payment issues. You will spend as much time on the phone fixing their mistakes, as you will in class. Go somewhere else. These guys don't care about you, they want your money.

My wife has been struggling with Walden for over a month. Their response has been akin to a scam rather than an university.

Upon learning that her district as well as most other districts in Colorado do not accept the degree she was going to pursue, my wife called the admissions office to dis-enroll. The admissions office instructed her to send an email requesting dis-enrollment, which she sent immediately. Walden did not respond, two weeks later she sent another email and received no response. She then received a phone call telling her that they had not received the email. Luckily my wife had read reviews on this site, which gave her insight into their tactics. She would not get off the phone with the admissions office, and what do you know, they managed to find the emails by the end of the call. At which point they said she would have to fill out some sort of dis-enrollment template and email it back in order to dis-enroll, when asked why they had not told her that a month ago, the admissions office had no reasoning. Now that my wife has complied with their supposed dis-enrollment guidelines, and verified that she has been removed from all classes, she is getting calls from academic advisors telling her that she needs to get her courses figured out before the semester begins. My wife's next action will be to send a certified letter to the admissions office detailing her experience, as well as making it abundantly clear that she wishes to be dis-enrolled immediately, and to have proof of said dis-enrollment sent back.

That is what this has come to, a university refusing to comply with a dis-enrollment, presumably so that they can get past the deadline for dis-enrollment, thereby allowing them to demand payment. Payment for a useless degree, that my wife has clearly communicated her decision not to pursue.

They want your money, and they don't even care if you take a class. I have been scammed online before, and the process has been similar, watch out with these guys.
