Central North Carolina E.E. Student February 17, 2009 at 9:11 p.m.
I am saddened about the news that WNU is closing. I enrolled in the E.E. Option “B” program.
My personal experience has been extremely positive. I will graduate March 2009 thanks to the hard work and dedication of the entire WNU faculty & staff.
All course work and study materials were made available. Student and instructors communicated on a regular basis. Students enrolled in KW / WNU programs that lack motivation, discipline may have a difficult time with the course work.
Any student needing to be “spoon feed” will experience frustration.
Nay Sayers, of WNU criticize credit being given for “verified" work experience.
How many talented men and women with years of experience in their respective fields end up training college interns or inexperienced college graduates ?
Adding insult to injury, these same college grads benifit from and receive raises and promotions thanks to and at the expense of the “work experience” of highly qualified non college grad.
If anybody out there knows of an on line school that offers courses / degrees in engineering, please feel free to share that information.
Good employers seeking qualified individuals with "verifiable work experience" will find a way to work with you accreditation or not.
Worth while potential employers will find a way to hire qualified individuals.
Many of us worked very hard to obtain our KW & WNU degree. Granted, receiving a degree from an accreditation institution has its benefits however accreditation is a voluntary process.
If there is no shame in your game, you won’t have to worry about accreditation. Now that I have completed the WNU E.E. program, I can begin prepartion for the F.E. Exam!
Getting my degree wasn’t easy…I am proud to say that I am receiving my E.E. Degree from a duly & legally licensed university…..THANKS TO WNU !
