I’d no intention of writing a review today. But when I came across some of the reviews here, I decided to reply. If your motivating question is "How quickly can I pass with as little effort as possible?", do WGU, its students & yourself a favor … MOVE ON! WGU ...

Complete waste of time!

I have been enrolled in the interdisciplinary K-8 program for a year now. I too have endured mentor changes, course changes and no support from the community leaders/mentors. The tasks are tedious and inconsistent. MOst of which have to be submitted and resubmitted several times before they are passed. They ...

I can never understand why people are so spiteful on these review boards. If you messed up with a program, don't roast it and turn away newcomers! I know the first time I attended college it didn't work out, but it was MY fault, not theirs. Now that I went ...

WGU IS WONDERFUL!

On June 15, 2009, someone calling themselves anonymous said to not trust WGU because Texas does not recognize the degree. I am currently a 3rd year student at WGU and I am from Texas. Texas DOES recognize the degree. I am sorry that you received incorrect information. The only thing ...

I am thrilled that I found such as high quality education at such a reasonable price! I am self-motivated and a quick learner. I learn best visually, so WGU works for me. For those that learn best aurally (by hearing) it might not be a good fit. I love that it is completely self-paced. Each task is broken down into steps so it is not overwhelming. I've met many great students that I email with on a daily basis. WGU goes the extra mile in preparing students for state certification. Here in California you cannot do student teaching through a district unless you are part of an accredited college like WGU.

My wife is a teacher who has a bachelor, master and specialist degrees in early education. I hear people complain that WGU is busy work. When she was going to "a brick and mortar" school all her degree programs required busy work. It's part of any program!

I find this school to be amazing. I am learning and futhering myself and Schools are already making offers and have a year to go. Anyone who fails at or quit with WGu, its because they want or wanted to.

I just started at WGU in May, after doing a lot of homework about online schools. The program for education is NCATE accredited, and as someone who has been through the NAEYC(NCATE for pre-schools) accreditation process I know how difficult it is to obtain. The program is not for someone who isn't able to learn on their own. There are no professors, the materials are made available to you and it is up to you if you learn it or not. The credits are not handed to you, you need to do the work. Things may get confusing at times, but the community boards are a great place to get answers to questions. My mentor, Wanda, is wonderful. I am so happy with WGU that I've convinced my husband to sign up. He's on the phone with his mentor as I write this.

I am thinking of signing with WGU and live in Pa. Has anyone from Pa attended this school and what was your experience?

I love WGU my mentor is wonderful. I struggled the first semester but with her help and her support i could not ask for a better school. I would not want to attend a school that is not NCATE and WGU is it too me a longtime to find a school that I was proud of and I finally found it. I am proud to say that I am a student at WGU and is looking forward to getting my degree in Special Education soon. Way to Go WGU. I will stand behind you 100% you have been there for me and helped me as i progressed in my studies.
