Almost done

I am almost finished. In the first term I completed 68 credits and had 15 transferred in from 10 years ago. If you are motivated and set your mind to working hard then you will complete the degree. Mentors are good and help push you in the right direction but I wish that they had more access to the classes we have to go through in order to complete them. Course Mentors are very good ...

Well it's transferable

I've been looking at WGU because of the competency based system of learning. I have done 3 years at a brick and mortar school and then had to enter the private sector because of financial issues with family. Since then I have not had the ability to go back being a bread winner for a house. So looking for a CREDIBLE online degree which IS transferable to other credible online MBA programs. So far the ...

After reading some of the reviews here, it seems that some people have been a little rash to post. Either they HATE WGU, or love it. This is a comprehensive review from a WGU graduate. I have a BSIT from WGU and have just withdrew from the WGU MBA program. I don't hold WGU in any regard, it's a good school for those who have no other option. But remember, almost every State University now ...

Can be great but not for everyone
August 11, 2009
first of all - WGU is NOT for everyone - WGU is a compliment to experienced professionals lacking degree credentials. It will benefit the person who has good english. math skills already and who is willing to study very hard ON THIER OWN. A person who has been in an industy such as IT - is a good example. WGU may be weak if you have never been in IT for example. Why give the ...

WGU is great for IT professionals
March 9, 2008
I've been going to WGU for almost 2.5 years and just about to complete the program. For IT professionals who are self-learners with limited time to sit in traditional college or university classroom, this is the perfect program. The competency based learning model has allowed me to use my existing IT and work experience to take advantage of the program and accelerate my degree (I'll have a 4 year degree completed in 2.5 years). Even ...

Western Governors IS Military Friendly
February 22, 2008
I beg to differ with the previous poster's comment regarding WGU being difficult for a military student. I recently graduated from WGU with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. I have also completed thirteen years service in the military to date. Additionally I am a veteran of several distance learning programs including American Intercontinental University, University of Phoenix, and Central Texas College's online program. I found WGU to be both a superior learning experience and much ...

Ask questions, the interviewer might.

If they're prejudiced against distance education, you might not get the interview to begin with.

If the company that prejudiced, you probably don't want to work there anyway.

If you open the online application page of most ABA accredited law schools, you will find that the names of most postgraduate schools are listed by alphabetical order; and if you have patience you will find WGU's name boldly listed just like all the other Ivy League schools.

I am looking to enroll into WGU's BS information technology management program. I am wondering if anyone had any problems transferring credits to a graduate school after graduating?

I would recommend WGU to the right students... motivated, independent, etc...

I was able to finish my BS with WGU and can vouch first hand that their mentors are excellent and they are continually developing and refining their program to make WGU the best online university anywhere. I have compared their online program to others and the others do not compare. WGU always has your personal AAP for you to reference from start to finish and they include a detailed list of every thing you will need for each class.

The online thing kinda made me think at first, but after considering the technology that is readily available to society I soon realized that many universities are going online...

WGU is fully accredited by several legit groups including NCATE for their teachers college and 4 regional firms.

Their non profit status allows for lower cost (around $3000 per term) and you get to work on you degree for 6 months 7 days a week... this equal acceleration.

I like WGU because they recognized my need to earn a degree and made it possible by designing the courses for the working adult.

good luck and choose a college that is right for you.

I'm looking at enrolling at WGU in business and wanted to know if any of the graduates found much difficulty finding a job with this online degree program. I'm also curious about graduate school. Has anyone tried getting into law school with an online degree with any success?
