Graduate Students Beware

Drexel University Online is a rip off. After searching for an online program for a year. I finally stubble upon Drexel's Certification track programs. I thought this would be a great way to continue my education online while gaining accreditation from this university. Drexel found away to tarnish my academic career and my financial stability. After numerous attempts to contact my adviser. I finally got her on the phone only to be made aware that the grade that I had been calling and emailing about has now turned into an F. I am now fighting for my grade to be changed. During my last year with Drexel I was also not made aware that my students loans had not gone through after numerous conversations with Financial Aid. After finally catching up with my adviser I was told that I could not apply for graduation because there was some type of hold on my account. Upon farther investigation I found out that I did not receive funding for the last year of school and now I owe the school over $14,000 dollars. Stay away from this school. There is no guidance and if you are a busy professional that does not have time to set up and check your Drexel email you will learn to regret it. The cost of prestige is not worth your GPA or financial stability.

Worth the money

I received my Master of Science in Advanced Teaching and Curriculum, Spring 2011. Yes, the school is expensive but that is because it is a well-known, private university...not a for-profit school like many other online colleges. All of my professors held doctorate degrees and worked at the university's main campus...they weren't just sitting at home sending out instructions for research papers. They were all very involved, easily reachable, and there to help whenever I had a question. It was challenging and a lot of work, but well worth every minute...and penny.

i took one semester and quickly realized that this university teaching staff has not crawled out from behind the desk in 15years. Of course papers and exam are expected. but who does a 8-10 page paper every week along with 10 chapters to read plus discussion. And all of this with minimum to no guidance in fact when I would ask questions I would either not get feedback or some answer that didnt make sense or irrelevent to the question. I wasnt the only one as i remember a discussion post from other students stating " its too bad that our questions arent being answered". Most of the students that seemed to get their questions answered were those who only agreed with the teachers position and I understand that because frankly if I disagreed i would either get a tongue lashing or no grade at all, i couldnt believe it!!! However their books were of good use and thats about all I can say. I transferred after one semester.
