Minnesota School of Business Reviews:

Worst School Ever!
May 21, 2012
Honestly, this was one of the biggest wastes of money. They promised a lot and delivered nothing. I have this piece of paper now, but no jobs. Career services has done nothing! I have done all my own work. Most colleges would at least help you and point you in the right direction. I want to send a special thank you to Eau Claire. Thanks for everything! I really appreciate you Career services. You've couldn't ...

Can't please everyone

People need to decide from their own experiences. Many students across this country are attending college and have trouble with: reading, writing, math, and many other subjects. Listen to some of the athletes coming out of the football programs from the S.E.C. Try and tell me they are a scamming kids and parents; as has been insinuated in some of these posts. Animals are never put to death after a lesson on campus, REALLY, how ...

Wished I never Went

When I was 16 and still in high school I applied to their high school advantage program and took the school's accuplacer test. I past with flying colors, my scores were so high compared to the school's scores. I got 48% through the vet tech degree when I thought this is enough. The so called instructors were discouraging, rude, and one in particular thought every student in the room was stupid and not worthy to ...

This school is basically still funcitioning because it accepts anyone who has enough money to afford their tuition. People who are serious about obtaining a degree will not attend this school. This school seems to be intended for those students who can't make the grade at a real university. In my classes, I noticed a majority of my classmates weren't even aware of how to construct a proper sentence and almost all of them were ...

Poor Result
July 9, 2011
Materials selected for classes were acceptable. The instructors are not well educated on how to teach. Support is very limited from administration or teachers. This is an expensive learning experience and value was not received for the cost. Animals are used for student trials and on occasion are put to death after the lesson is completed. For some students this may be hard to understand and may not be a good experience. Hope this review ...

I looked for 6 months prior to attending MSB to see what they would accept versus other schools. I had been out of school for almost 10 years and most schools wanted me to start all over. I really would have been better off that way. I finished my degree from MSB, and its worthless. I have since pursued my Bachelors (AGAIN!) from a reputable school, and have stopped putting Globe on my resume. It does adversely effect your ability to get interviews with it on there. My experience with their "advisers" grew worse as I got closer and closer to graduation. Financial aid was a joke, there was always one more fee that they forgot to include, and I needed to pay $1200 for this and $1600 for that. Don't even try to speak to a supervisor about why one person says one thing and someone else says something completely different. UGH! I haven't attended the school in 3 years and I'm still upset at them.

I am sorry I ever even heard of this school. I thought it might help my future, so I contacted them. What did I get for my time? A whole lot of harassing phone calls over the next 6 months telling me all about how I needed an education. Eventually these representatives turned into something like Marine recruiters. Abusive and trying to guilt trip me into signing up with the school. I took it to the Attorney General's office and it stopped within 2 weeks. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER! THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!

I almost attended the school too! I was days away from enrolling for Spring 2011. Thanks to sites like this I ended up not enrolling but am now going to enroll into my state university. I DO feel sorry for the one's that are locked in and attending MSB.

Wow!!! I can't believe I was only days away from enrolling in this school!!! All I can say is I'm so sorry to those of you who were lied to and ripped off.
As horrible as it is/was, I appreciate you sharing your experience at MSB with all of us...it definitely made me change my mind!! MSB won't get a cent out of me!!!

What else can I say? This school ripped me off and gave me a degree not even worthy enough to serve as wallpaper in a homeless man's cardboard box.

Notice how all these MSB graduate or attendees always start out by telling us a sob story? "I have five kids, a dog with two bad legs, an elderly mother to take care of, and I do all that while getting my Certificate, BS, or MBA at MSB". They all have a 3.6+ GPA as if it were that easy to get.

This school is passing out B.A., B.S., and even MBAs like candy. This seriously diminishes the value of real degrees earned by those who went through years of hard work to earn it.

Every degree issued from for this school is like counterfeit money. It robs the value from those who hold real degrees. Don't stay silent anymore, speak out before it's too late.

This school takes advantage of people in a desperate state. People looking for hope. They are the opposite of a charity. They are nothing more than a common thief.

I am nearing the end of my time at the Elk River campus and the only thing I like are the teachers in the vet tech program. From what I hear the other campuses are not so lucky. Also I had a problem here with finacial aid and I went to talk with the dean of students about it, but she ttold fincial aid what I said and they wrote me a email chewing me out for talking to the dean of students. Also they are not vetren freindly no matter what they say.

Plane and simple, Globe Eau Claire = STAY AWAY. The Vet Tech program is a complete joke. Graduated a while back and I have no job in my field. I work at a gas station (big deal). The school doesn't really offer any help finding a job much past a month or two out of school.

A big waste of time. But then again, when 15 or 20 of you graduate each quarter, where do you expect to find a job? I guess if you are willing to move to another state you'll be good.

Stay away!

I guess I am only echoing what everyone else is saying. This is a very big waste of money. I lasted 1.5 quarters. The best part, no partial refund for the .5 quarter. They kept it all. I moved on to a real university. Stay away at all costs.

The Minnesota School of Business is NATIONALLY ACCREDITED! What does that mean? NO ONE, AND I DO MEAN NO ONE, will take your credits on transfer. Think I'm kidding, call you REGIONALLY ACCREDITED school (which is basically everyone else.

Let me ask you this, if "NATIONALLY ACCREDITED" was better, why wouldn't the U of M, St. Cloud, Duluth, Winona State, Hamline, St. Thomas, the area tech schools, University of Wisconsin, etc. all have it. It is SUB PAR, just like their product.

Two quarters in and I've dropped out. I would suggest you do the same. After 2 quarters I spent almost as much as I would have at Anoka Tech (where I am now). If you are considering this school or in just a quarter or two in, get out now!

About that Vet Tech program...waste of time. They tell you that you will get a job in your home area. Guess what, the closest job for me was over 90 miles away. I can't move! My fault I suppose for not researching it closer. However, they could help the students out by providing numbers or data on placement and the area of placement. I asked for these numbers when I started looking. Initially I got very odd responses. I was told they would get me the information. Eventually the returned calls stopped. In fact, I don't even get calls from career services now.

I guess I shouldn't have bothered to ask too many questions. Now I can't even get help finding a job.

Well, I go to Globe in Eau Claire. I am in the business program. The experience has been nothing short of terrible. I am going to finish because I am only 2 quarters from graduation. However, the classes are less than rigorous. It is mostly busy work. I spent a lot of money and it appears my Associate Degree has more value than the Bachelor Degree will. How sad is that? A lot of money wasted.

The school is a sham. They will tell you what you want to hear just to get you to enroll.

I completed my Bachelors in Accounting at MSB and was told my credits would transfer as well. I just went to another college looking to complete my MBA and they told me "Good Luck" getting in any MBA program with a degree from MSB. Course work was a joke, teachers for the most part were a joke and so was the administration. Their admin folks are just salespeople trying to get your money. I havejust realized that this was the biggest and most expensive mistake I will probably make in my life! Please if at all possible, do not attend MSB. You are much better off going to a state tech school where your credits are actually worth more than the paper your transcript is printed on!

This school is a joke. The school is failing economically and are replacing qualified teachers with unqualified staff members. In an effort to increase enrollment, they lower academic standards and raise prices at the same time. For the price of 1 year of college, you can go more than 1 year at an actually accredited state school. On top of that there are certain large hospitals and corporations that won't accept Globe University and Minnesota School of Business. I had to find this out the hard way.

Globe + Eau Claire = Joke

Seriously, stay away at all costs. I don't want to name names, but I will. A guy named Travis and Eric could care less about you at this school. Need a class, oh well, go online and take it in that format. Forget that they promised me on campus classes. I talked to them both and was blown off like I was nothing.

I've dropped after 4 quarters. I'm going to CVTC. It's too bad it took me this long to figure out this was such a joke. I will at least save some people by telling my friends though.

How is it this school is still around!

I go to the MA program. One word of caution, so do a lot of other people. As a result, good luck finding a job. The placement rating is a joke for this place. The best part, you spend tens of thousands of dollars on a degree to earn $9-$10/Hr. Go to a tech college and pay about 1/4 the cost.

I go to Globe in Eau Claire, WI. I am "enrolling" for the winter quarter. Guess what, NO CLASSES! They offered me a lot of online classes and classes that I don't need. They promised me classes on campus when I enrolled. I talked to my adviser and the Dean of Students. Guess what, they couldn't care less!

I am dropping out. Based on my contact with the friends I've made, many of them are too. Stay away from Globe in Eau Claire. I can't speak for other Globe University schools, but the one in Eau Claire is worthless.

It isn't a problem with the teachers. It is a problem with the finance team, advisers and administration. This place is run by some very bad managers. You know what is really funny, they call themselves a school of management and they don't even know how to manage.

Stay away!

The degree program is accredited by the ACICS, which is synonymous with "no accreditation". Credits cannot be transferred and are not recognized by most or all other schools. Should not be called a College or School. I am now in major debt with a degree that is worthless - even with my GPA of 3.97, I never even got an interview through them. I had perfect attendance and my name on the wall every quarter for being on the "Dean's List". Little did I know I was on the shyt list.

Professors do not interact with the students online. They do not participate in the BlackBoard web forums which is supposed to mimic "in person" classes. Since they do not write to students online, I suppose this means they don't even show up in person to classes? Professors do not make use of available technologies to create great online classes--no video lectures, no online chats, no online blogs... They just dump a bunch of reading materials ...

I am a MSB alumni and would like to warn you about this school. First of all it would be a waste of your time to go there, because the quality of education is extremely low! Second they constantly raise the tuition and once you begin, the bill will go up every year. The staff is outrageously unprofessional and sometimes rude. 90% of the professors come unprepared to class!

Unfortunately, I am a graduate of the Minnesota School of Bull$hit. Many of the instructors are not qualified to teach. M$B only requires them to have two years of experience in their field, and teaching skills are merely optional from my experience. I commend those of you who dodged this bullet, and good luck to those of us who didn't.

I am super frustrated. I when I started MSB I was told I would be making $17-24 dollars a year at starting rate. I am currently making over 3 dollars less than the minimum going rate I was promised. With that being said I am moving to the east coast only to find out there are Cma's that went to school for one year or MA's that just start out at a clinic after high school!!! MA's in new jersey make not more than $12.50 and they are asking 2 years experience!! I owe over 40 thousand dollars to MSB for what???? It took be four years part time due to keeping a full time job and raising my daughter on my own. All I wanted is to succeed and now I feel like I was taken advantage of. Something needs to be done. This school is fake and full of deceivers!

I am in the smack-dab middle of this crap as we speak. I'm 20 years old and I WAS really excited to be graduating with my Bachelor's degree about a year earlier than my other friends. I (like most) LOVED MSB at first. They all seemed so nice and helpful and like they actually wanted me to do well at their school. WHAT A TOTAL JOKE. Over the quarters I've spent there, I've come to realize that what these other comments say is all TRUE. Instructors are IDIOTS and HORRIBLE "teachers". For example, my program is the bachelor's in Business Management with my emphasis on Music Business. I've worked with many many bands and know what I'm doing in the industry. I have learned NOTHING to prepare me for my future from the school, and even in my music classes, my "instructor" would ask ME for things to talk about during class time. Also, presently, I'm taking Microsoft Office II (which I oddly enough failed the test-out for...they make nearly all of them impossible to pass). The Office class is based on an OUTDATED software program, and is not offered for Mac computers. The school didn't tell me any of this, so now I'm 9 weeks into the quarter trying to do homework for a class that's teaching me about software that's 4 years outdated! And the instructors are apparently allergic to e-mailing someone back. If you e-mail an instructor, 9 times out of 10 they'll conveniently miss your e-mail and never respond, which has lead to my fair share of upsetting times over the quarters spent in this absolute hell hole. Oh, and before you assume I'm just another "slug" admitted to the school, I'm not. I graduated high school in 2008 with a 29 ACT score, and attended the University of St. Thomas previously to MSB. I have ALWAYS gotten all A's, not just at MSB where they hand them out like free suckers at the doctor's office. THIS SCHOOL IS AN EXPENSIVE JOKE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU MORE UNPREPARED FOR YOUR FUTURE THAN WHEN YOU STARTED!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!

Really?

I see my posts have been deleted. Well, the truth shouldn't be known I guess. Let me sum it up:

* YOUR CREDITS WILL NOT TRANSFER TO A REGIONALLY ACCREDITATED SCHOOL, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT MSB SAYS.

* The tuition rates are out of wack.

* Students have a black mark on their resumes.

I wrote a lot several months ago and justified it with numbers. An MSB employee (one can assume) even acknowledge (that post still remains of course) that it was well written. I responded with facts that that is even deleted. I will assume MSB has corporate lawyers in place to challenge too much truth.

I wish I could have seen your other posts. I am an MSB student and I've hated it for a long time. Everyone said I was just overreacting about the sketchy things that went on there, but now I feel much better knowing SO many people deal with this. I want to know more about the "black mark" on resumes. I'm due to graduate soon (no idea when, the school keeps screwing me over on graduation dates, of course), and I'm TERRIFIED to read some of these things. I put my trust in this institution and they have done nothing but violate it. I thought I would be done with their crap once I graduate, but I guess this will follow me into my "future" that they've done SO well preparing me for (heavy on the sarcasm).

At first i thought msb college was great but now i am so depressed by the lack of support from the school that i dont care if i flunk out this term. They have the terms suspended and expelled mixed up. Suspended means you take some time off from school and then come back the following quarter without having to fight the school board to be let back in. Last year my kids got the H1N1 right after the October quarter started, then I got it too. Our whole family was sick from october to march. I tried to explain it to the school and then the day the quarter starts in april, i get a letter telling me i was suspended because of my grade point average from the previous quarter. I had already gotten my books and had to pay the school back for them. Then they said if I wanted back in school, I had to write a letter and provide documents everytime one of us went to the doctor to verify that we were really that sick. I had a 1 year old and 2 year old sick with it and they thought my homework should take priority over taking care of my children. I was allowed back in for this quarter and same thing happened sort of, 2nd week of school, my son catches the stomach flu and gives it to my daughter and then to me. We have spent october to december sick with the flu and bronchitis. My advisor says i need to let my teachers know, i had already done so when we first started getting sick, I have been trying to keep up on classes but will probably fail out and this time i didnt go to the doctor every time we got sick again because when i called, i was told from our doctor we were doing every thing and it was better to stay home so we wouldnt make other people sick. I tell my advisor that i am worried about failing and tried to take the quarter off and recieve incomletes, only to be told to get out of a class you have to do it the first week no exceptions. Then he goes talk to the teacher, its not my job. The only time my adviser emailed me was if i didnt log in within exactly 7 days of the last log in attempt. They have me do accounting principles for a business admin assistant certificate and i have no clue what i am doing. same with the customer service class, turns out i needed 2 books but the second book wasnt brought up til a few weeks ago. However when i ordered my books, only 1 book was listed for that class. If i do flunk out, I would not recommend this school to anyone, all they want is money and now i have 35000 in loans for 3 years of school and really nothing to show for it that i didnt already know. Rasmussen was another joke, none of my generals transferred over so i had to take accounting, 2 math classes and keyboarding again despite passing them at rassmussen.

MSB is my second college experience. Very similar problems with a previous university in the nearly complete lack of communication by instructors.

Because these instructors (and often their supervisors/directors) are touted as "real world" professionals doesn't automatically translate to them having a genuine calling for teaching. Keep in mind, many are currently working outside the university, which causes conflicting priorities. Plus, I'm sure having taught at a college looks good on a resume, but that means little to someone seeking real assistance by a real teacher who honestly cares about what they are doing. I suspect many of these "instructors" care little about anything beyond their own self interests in being at the college.

My main suggestion, if things get unbearable, would be to have everything documented and submit a formal complaint to the accreditation body. There is a formal complaint process outlined on their website. There is always a possibility of actual fraud by a college and the dept. of education might be a good route to go if you feel you may have really been snookered by any online school.

I am dropping out after this quarter. I will continue my education, but clearly a public university is the way to go.

I attend a school that is affiliated with MSB. I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies. Although I really regret not having known that this school was so expensive when I made the decision to attend, I am still optimistic about my future. When I was deciding which school I would attend, I didn't care about tuition costs or accredidation; but rather, the classes and the information I would be taught. Of all the programs that I had to choose from, I still feel as though this was the best decision. While I realize that the piece of paper I'll receive carries less weight than its counterparts issued by other schools, I still feel as though I have the education that I wanted. The truth of the matter is that most of my classmates seem like they still don't know anything, yet they still receive A's. I, on the other hand, have learned a great deal of information. This is not due to the school being the best; it is because I have strived to learn everything I possibly could about every subject I have taken, regardless of whether doing so was necessary in order to pass the class. At the end of the day, school is what you make of it. Really, school is just an opportunity for individuals to enroll in a class, get a text book, and ask a question or two; what a person does with that opportunity is entirely up to that individual.

This is an abbreviated version of a letter sent to numerous politicians, schools, and accreditation bodies after repeated attempts to get Globe University to correct a situation. I will not provide the name of the individual in this format as I did in the original letter to those just mentioned. However, if you got to CCAP (State of Wisconsin) and search under names other than the instructors current last name used at Globe, you will find the details. Sorry, I won't slander a name in public like the teacher slaughters college student's education.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is written with deep regret as a parent of a student at Globe University. Your time is short, so let me get right to the point. I have sent two letters to Globe University and they refuse to cooperate, so I have decided that others must be made aware of what they are subjecting the students of the Business and Accounting programs to in Eau Claire, WI.

They have hired a convicted felon to teach in these programs. The name is ...., but the teacher has AKA’s of ....., .... and .... . You will also find .... and .... on CCAP with felony convictions and these AKAs are provided. You will even find an inmate number. This person has been convicted of Fraud, Theft, and Issuance of Worthless Checks. The theft charges are all felonies and this person has even spent time in prison. You should also note that some of the conditions of her probation include, “The Defendant is not to be employed where ‘this person’ may have access to the financial resources of others.” This person has access to student records! This person is now teaching accounting? How can a school hire a felon convicted of monetary crimes and allow them to teach accounting classes? How can this person tell the students they are a CPA, when in fact they are not? How can they be teaching classes that a CPA should be, yet they is not?

The students at Globe University are being taken advantage of and put at risk by these reckless hiring practices. Clearly, those responsible for decisions have overlooked this and are now ignoring it because it has been brought to their attention at least twice in the past month. I now turn to the press, area schools, politicians, and accreditation bodies to help right this wrong. At the very least, the school should be questioned on the basis of moral and ethical decision making practices.

I ask that you help the students of this community, the parents, and other community members find a way to make Globe University accountable for their hiring practices as well their outrageous tuition charges. Tuition is secondary, but becomes a serious issue when one learns that as parents we are paying for students to learn how to steal properly.

Sincerely,

An Angry Parent

What about Globe University resources? I understand each location has a library. Any input as to the worth of the library, its resources, or the librarians on staff?

MSB will sucker you into huge financial aid packages. They will then 'promise' job placement. In the end, you will be straddled with unpayable debt that will ruin your credit, and your degree will be considered a little less valuable than toilet paper. Don't let them fool you. Your community college credits will be cheaper and hold more weight to real schools and businesses. MSB is a money machine, that's it. Educational / Academic credibility is non-existent. They have a 'Dr.' CEO, who is a slimy salesman. Trust me, stay away. MSB has a BAD REP

What I am about to tell you will save your financial life. No need to thank me. Just make sure to think things over very well before making a mistake.

I would like to introduce a little financial reality into the discussion. Let’s say you owed $58,000 in loans. For illustration purposes, let's assume a 6.5% interest rate (which is the average). In addition, let's say that you wanted to pay-off the loan in 10 years (120 months). You would pay:
$658/month for 120 months
Interest: $21,000
Final pay-off amount with interest: $79,000 !!!!!!!!

Many people simply cannot pay back their loans; especially if they are getting a degree from a 'university' which will not make them competitive enough to get the excellent job paying big money.

Think it over carefully. I would do the prudent thing and go to a community college for a tiny fraction of the tuition cost at a 'university' like this one. You can also transfer to a public university at a fraction of the cost as well. Good Luck!!!!!

In general they are nice, but wow, most of them can't teach and they don't know what the heck they are talking about as a result. I am sure they have a lot of experience, but they can't figure out how to relate the experience in the classroom.

How about this...do a search for the Minnesota School of Business and Globe University. Make sure you also search "high tuition," "poor education," "rip of," "sales staff," "money," and of course things like "suck". I think you will be most disturbed to find that several websites have opinions posted that think far less of of the school than than what the school is telling you.

MSB is a complete nightmare. All they do is scam students out of money. They'll lie to you in the beginning about the tuition a year. It will really be about $20,000 a year which is ridiculous especially since their not even a university or regionally accredited for that matter. I'm currently suffering from their scam, as I now have debt collectors calling me about the balance I owe. I can’t find a job and it is clear the degree actually has been a hindrance in my job search. I will do what I can to avoid paying for this sham and I will take legal action against them if necessary.
Now for those of you who may think I'm some bitter student because you think I failed....it's not true at all. I have maintained an incredibly high GPA since entering college. I take my studies very seriously as I want to further my career path.
MSB is nothing but a scam company and everything will come out into the open in good time. Karma is stronger than you believe. What goes around comes around.
To all you MSB employees coming on this page, you know that what you're doing is wrong. Do you people enjoy stealing away people's money and future? You people are heartless sorry excuses of human beings, lying over your telephones.
To those who are so excited about MSB and are graduating soon, I will pray for you, as things will crumble before your eyes. You will be in serious debt and have a degree that will be worthless. They don’t even take the diploma seriously. I got mine and it was on a piece of normal printing paper run off on a color printer. Really?! For everything I paid you can’t even afford to use high quality paper?! I have a friend that I met through this school and she is still there about to graduate in December. I tried to warn her but she feels pretty confident about the school. I just don't want to see what will happen when she's done. Please get out while you can!!!

I was going to attend, but not any longer. I even showed this to my adviser and they had no defense. The only thing they said was that all the students they have dealt with have been satisfied. She wouldn't give me a retention rate of students though and said only that students who enroll are happy. She wouldn't give names of previous students who have graduated or dropped out. She said it was private and all questions should be directed to admissions where they can answer them.

Yeah, right, answer them. They can answer them in a controlled environment. I could see liar written all over her face.

If you want a feel good school, this is the place for you. I attended a MSB and they proudly hang the 3.5-3.99's on the wall and next to it are the 4.0's. Guess what, you might want to take them down because almost 45% of the school is between a 3.5-4.0. Wow, Harvard sure missed out on this crop!

The reality is, they aren't really all that good, the teachers just don't care and hand out A's just to keep the slugs that get in (really, many students are slugs) out of their hair.

Here is a test (no kidding, I really had a test like this):

Name: 10 points (no kidding!)

Date: 5 points (no kidding!)

50 MC questions 50 points
35 TF questions 35 points

25 bonus questions - 50 extra credit points

Check it out, you have a 15/100 right off the bat by putting your name and date on the paper! Hilarious! Now, answer the test questions and I am sure you will get at least of them right (even the idiots do that), so you are at a 55/100. Now answer the bonus questions and if you get 25/50 on those you will be up to an 80/100. This is worst case scenario! Almost everyone in the class ended up with a 110-120 out of 100!

Happy A! Of course, as you can see, with these stunts being pulled, your degree isn't even worth the paper it is printed on.

I go to MSB (called Globe) in Eau Claire, WI. I guess I should say "went to Globe". I recently left not because of the teachers, but because of the overbearing enrollment "advisers". They are sales staff and nothing more. They are clearly the most important staff because I have sat in the classroom and been disturbed on several occasions by these folks either looking for someone so they make sure they enroll (of course, billed as "this is for your own good and your future") or to make sure bills are paid. You aren't here for you future, you are here for the future of the upper managers salary.

These folks are here for you all right, here to make sure you stay in school. If you don't, they will just keep calling and calling. I dropped out about a quarter ago and I kid you not, I have gotten close to 60 calls in 12 weeks. Really? Is this a school or a telemarketing outfit?

This "school" even allows outsiders in the room and promotes it by giving free t-shirts to people who bring a guest. Funny thing is, I have had six different instructors seem rather agitated because they don't get told about the visitors and are just supposed to expect them. Nice "school"!

Avoid the "Globe" schools as well. Biggest damn joke ever. Now I am $20K in the hole and nothing to show for it.

To all my fellow customers and prospective customers, MSB is solid for a number of reasons. I'd like to explain and in the end, I think you will all see this is the place to be.

1) Admissions is wonderful. You have to hand it to folks who can tell lie and truly believe it is the truth. George Costandza said, "Remember Jerry, it isn't a lie if you believe it". A must in Globe admissions. Wonderful people.

2) Financial Aid will help you every step of the way! The first thing they look for is whether or not you can see and if you have hands. They do this because if you meet these requirements (two of the most important I might add), you can actually sign the loan paperwork. The second step is "research". They are so smooth you won't even feel them in your back pocket while they are talking to you. They like to fish around and see what you have. Cash, checks, credit and debit cards, etc. all work. The more you have, the more you are qualified for an education.

4) They have qualified teachers that care! Each teacher is certain to give you the basics and beyond in each class. For example, in a writing class the basics would be talking about consonants and how they can come together to make a word. However, these teachers go the extra mile and include vowels so you can actually create a word. Now that is dedication. The teachers care about your success and your time. I can personally vouch for this because they not only come to class on time, but they get you out 2 1/2 hours early so "you" can get home to your family. D.E.D.I.C.A.T.I.O.N. folks that is all I can say.

3) Academic support works hard to keep you on track. They always around, even when they are not at their desks. What do I mean? Well, they have feelers all over the campus. The first sign or smell of failure and they are on it quicker than a fire department on a house fire. They want to make sure everyone gets a degree. It is almost like a New York style street vendor yelling, "Get your A's here! I got your hot A's right here!"

5) Career services have a job for you! Don't worry, when you get done they will give you everything you need. This includes a copy of last week’s classifieds and a good luck handshake. They will also provide you with a pen to circle ads that interest you, but that will cost you $7.99. What more do you need?

6) They provide you change that matters. A change in your lifestyle is what you will get from MSB. You will open the doors of opportunity you never thought existed. This is basically because you'll be working at places you never thought existed.

When I first went to this school (MSB-Blaine campus), everyone was so encouraging, and most of the teachers know a lot about what they are teaching. I am finally on my last quarter, but I have noticed how rude the staff is there, and they are just so unhelpful now! If I were to start all over again and walked in there and had these rude staff members that don't know anything about customer service talk me into going to their school... I wouldn't. They need HR in there or something. Also, I recieved my last schedule in the mail yesterday (less than one week before classes start) and they switched one of my most important classes to two day classes.... I had it as a night class, apparenlty they called me because it got cancelled, but they never did. So now with about 3 days until classes begin, I am now on the hunt trying to find day care for my child.

So I would say a year and a half ago I would have given this school five stars.. but they need to reconsider what they are doing there now because it SUCKS and the staff is NOT there for you anymore, like they had promised me when I signed up.

$45,000 to get an associates degree??? That's just unrealistic and unaffordable. I was less than 24 hours away from signing over my checking, savings, and credit to this school...until I read these comments. MSB sounds like it is a joke and NO ONE can realistically afford to go unless they want to be in debt for the remainder of their life. They made it sound like the staff was highly trained and the whole vet tech program was going to be everything I could have ever wanted and more. Waste of 4 hours and $50 of my life!

I'm currently a student at MSB. I received my AAS in accounting a few years ago. I was satisfied with my education and the employment results it produced. I recently returned to MSB to complete my bachelor's degree in accounting in order to get to the next level in my career. Now I've encountered a problem.
I have been doing research into the accreditation problems that have recently become under scrutinization by the federal government. MSB's accrediting agency is the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). This is one of those national accrediting agencies that is currently under review by the federal government for legitimacy. Due to this, I'm considering transferring to a regionally accredited school.
However, I'm a working adult; the only regionally accredited school close to where I live that offers night programs- only offers a bachelor of science in Management. This option would also save me about $12,000 in student loans. I want to expand and further my career in the financial accounting profession.
My question to you, or anyone who can offer me some insight- Which option is better suited for my career goals:

1. BS degree in management from a regionally accredited school with financial accounting certifications via testing , or
2. BS in Accounting from MSB. - I would quality to sit for the CPA exam in Minnesota with a BS Accounting degree from MSB.
Could someone please offer me some guidance and input ASAP?

I've had some bad experiences early on in my education. I was told that my credits would transfer to U of M. After I got my associates degree, I began looking into going to the U of M. From there, I realized that I had to appeal each individual credit if I wanted anything to count. I went back to the school and they said they were shocked. I told them who my rep was that told me the credits would transfer and I was told she was fired already for telling students just that that.

I ended up going to U of M as a freshmen even though I already had an associates degree. To be honest, there really isn't a difference in my opinion. A lot of the university environment is a joke too. Either way you look at it, the resources are there for you to be well educated in whatever area you want to pursue. Don't get me wrong, I was extremely ticked when I found out that I was lied too. College in general is expensive just to get a piece of paper but unless you're attending a top 10 university, most businesses could care less. All I care about is getting the education and resources I need to have a solid foundation for my career I'm pursuing and MSB has that. My concern is that it is expensive... so unless you're serious about going college and getting your degree, don't bother. But I guess that goes to say about any college or university.

The smartest thing you could do is contact 3-5 employers in your area that you would like to work for and see if they would hire you. If not, you have answered your own question. I would also suggest finding graduates and interviewing some of them to determine what experiences they have had.

Based on my information, the school is suspect because they are Nationally Accredited. This is a big deal, whether the school will admit it or not. The other thing to consider is whether or not student loans will be available for this school much longer. I say this because they are under fire right now from the legislature and could lose the ability to accept financial aid in many instances.

I caution you and would suggest really researching. Get on some waiting lists at good schools that are regionally accredited and perhaps take classes in other medical fields to get some experience.

One more thing, look at the programs and you can see the holes. For example, the Paralegal program isn't even ABA (American Bar Association) accredited. What does this mean? Well, many paralegal graduates have a difficult time finding a job because most programs are ABA accredited. Attorneys must take the test and they certainly don't want paralegals working for them that don't understand what they need to do from day-to-day. Is your nursing program accredited by the proper agencies? Chances are they are missing some key accreditations, which means you aren't getting what you paid for.

Soo, yesturday I went and talked to the administrator at the Minnesota school of Business. She was very convincing (of course) that this school was right for me and has said that I WILL get accepted to their nursing program if I apply even though they only accept like 40 people per quarter. The tuition cost was around 100,000 not including text books, lab fees, etc. Yes, that's a crazy price.

So, I've been thinking about it because I really wanna get my career started. I'm only 20 and just want to finish asap. I mean, who doesn't? I decided to check out some reviews before I make my decision and I'm shocked. There's was only about 2 people who said someting good. I'm not sure if I should believe it or not. The nursing program is VERY competitive and just getting into ANY program would make me happy. I feel desperate but at the same time, I wouldn't want to go to a school that are unable to give me the education that I need. I've been going to a community college for 3 years, I have my minor done and I've gotten most of the pre-reqs for nursing completed. I wanna get out of my community college.

What should I do? I'm guessing I shouldn't apply?

I found it easier to find a job with just my high school diploma instead of this diploma mill on my resume.

Biggest joke ever. Here is how they helped.

They helped themselves into my wallet.

They helped me lose weight because I can only afford one meal a day now because of the outrageous tuition and subsequent student loans.

They helped me buy some very expensive bookends they call text books.

They helped me find a high mileage clunker because it is all I can afford now with the student loans.

They helped me sell some unneeded furniture so I could keep paying my bills.

They helped my study habits by cancelling my cable television so I could pay rent.

They helped by providing me a map to the Goodwill store so I could by clothes.

They helped by kicking my dog and taking my wife.

Okay, so the last one is fake, but you get the picture.

Kiss my butt Minnesota School of Bidness.

"Expensive".....hahahaha

John, state colleges are half the cost. The degree is MORE respected from a state college too. I am sure the tipping point for you job was this college too. It didn't have anything to do with the fact that you either (a) already worked for the bank or (b) had past banking experience (or at least accounting or some numbers related position).

If this school had a great placement rating and good income, this school's students wouldn't be defaulting on student loans left and right.

I have attended the Minnesota School of Business for just over four years now. I am currently working toward my MBA. The only way to describe this school is the very best. My instructors are amazing and they have real world experience in the areas that they teach. Not to mention that the education and financial aid departments are so helpful. It is expensive to attend this school but in return you get the comfort of knowing that you are getting the best education available. When I was interviewed for the personal banker position (which the school helped me find) that I currently hold I was told that it was a huge plus that I went to the Minnesota School of Business. People recognize the quality of the education and it will definately help you especially in this job market.

I have had so many problems with this school!!! They rob you of so much money and your EDUCATION!!! Out of all my classes I have yet to learn how to do urin studies! Ah hello thats one of the MAJOR areas needed in a clinic setting!!! Also, they have failed me for classes if you do bad on your final, had 99.8% in a class or higher did bad on my final because the teacher didn't tell us the right stuff to study for and they failed me for it. In that class three other people failed, that will tell you something! Another thing, They DO NOT care who you are or about any of the students! I became pregnant in january with only a few classes to go including my internship and I told them flat out I dont have that much money (only 4 credits,6 to get grants) so I needed to add more classes. They said no. I also shared my concern to get my externship done early so I could be done with it before my baby came, they didnt care and my teacher looked for intern places for me ALMOST LAST!!! By the way they really dont care about students. I had missed animal care one day and they wrote me up for it. The reason I was gone was because my aunt became very ill so we went to se her, the next day she died. After they heard my reasoning they still wrote me up!! A death still isnt good enough for them!!!! Im in my internship and my hours had been mixed up with other days of the week and they threw a fit. They cant prove the hours I did work and the place didn't keep track, only I did with my time card and my teacher thought I was lieing about the hours, so now after talking to the dean of students and my teacher they are going to expel me for one year or longer. I have 3 conditions to be met, have to say sorry to both of them, write an appeal and IF and ONLY IF it gets approved I can return to school a year from now! But I would have to review a few classes before I can even go into the classes I need to graduate. I was going to graduate September 2010; my goal was to graduate and be done before I had my baby, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SITUATION!!!!! They just don't care and if you know what you want to do for your life and you really care about school like I did then do us all a favor, SAVE your money and use it at at different college!!! THEY ARE A JOKE, THEY ARE ONLY THERE FOR THE MONEY!!!

I attended last year and must say I agree with all of the above - these classes are a joke. The instructors don't even interact or participate - they just leave the students to talk on message boards about ANYTHING, and they get an A. I had a fairly serious complaint last year about religious and political views that were shoved down my throat in a class - and was told that someone was going to be getting in touch with me to discuss. Months went by, no discussion. Finally I decided I'd better continue with my classes, and thought a math course would be safer. I just received an email this morning saying that I was no longer considered a student there, and would need to re-apply. I'm just so discouraged that they took my money and gave me nothing. And from what I see here, the credits I did earn there are going to be worthless.

WORST SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY is the best comment I have. Any person who says it this school the best is likely to be an owner or employee of the college.
My wife went to this school and they employ very unprofessional instructors and staff. They do not understand how to run an organized class or how to teach students information they will need on the job. You can complete all the homework and pass the test and grading is not consistent with work put into the classes.
If it is not too late do not even consider this school as an option.
If you are already a student and you have a chance to get out and go to another school do it now before it is too late.
I agree with the person commenting above that everyone should place their complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) so that others will not be hoodwinked by this so called college and waste, time, effort and money.

I attended this school for a few quarters and quickly realized they were much more concerned with my payments processessing than my education. They never tell you that your credits will not transfer, because then students would not come here and they would not be able to steal your money. I was told by one potential employer that my degree wasn't a "real" degree and that everyone knows its a pay-for-degree school. I wish I would have gone to a state school, where my degree would have mattered. Now I'm out thousands of dollars for a degree that employers balk at and I'm ashamed of. I feel like a fool.

I am a student at MSB I really think it is a joke. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. They told me one quarter that I needed only 3 more classes, then they told me I needed 6 more classes. They tried to schedule classes that I had already taken. It seems like I am spending a lot of money on taking classes that I don't need. I have seen other schools offer BS degrees with less credits than 180 and you probably get classes that you will need for the course you are taking.

I attended Globe for 1 quarter, spent $415 a credit for 15 credits (over $6K!!!) and guess what, when I transferred to a University of Wisconsin school none of the credits transferred because of National Accredition as the UW school told me. This school will rob you blind. In addition, the instructors couldn't be more underqualified, often just handing out A's for showing up. The kicker is that the "Dean's list had over 170 4.0's last quarter and they only ahve 700 students. Trust me, if you saw the students, you would know it isn't because of study habits.

Look at it this way, if you want a feel good grade, come to this school. You'll get A's and all the compliments you want as long as you pay the bill.

Thanks for nothing!

It is very simple, the "professors" don't care, but why should they, they are not qualified. In many cases, the school hires whoever they can find. One professor told me the reason they have a hard time is because the pay stinks for the work that is expected. Move along, you would be better served at the University of Phoenix.
