Northern Arizona University Reviews:

Don't waste your time and money
October 16, 2009
Professors do not interact with the students online. They do not participate in the BlackBoard web forums which is supposed to mimic "in person" classes. Since they do not write to students online, I suppose this means they don't even show up in person to classes? Professors do not make use of available technologies to create great online classes--no video lectures, no online chats, no online blogs... They just dump a bunch of reading materials ...

RIP OFF!!!
September 30, 2008
They totally ripped me off. I went there for one semester entirely online. paid the tuition in full before i started, got a 3.75 GPA, went to enroll for classes for the next semester and they tell me that i owe them 5000+ dollars because they decided to classify me as an out of state residnt. i called so many times beforehand asking them about this and they said it was all set, i was ...

Not engaging or deep learning
May 24, 2007
The classes are about jumping through hoops and not truly about learning the information. There is a lot of busy work and a lack of learning. There is very shallow interaction with other students. Minimal input from the professors except for checking off assignments.

Cookie cutter courses
November 15, 2006
The courses in this program are worst I've experienced in taking advantage of the online environment for promoting learning. I completed one class and started another. Both were based on the Allyn-Bacon series of textbooks and the lessons came straight from the texts. There was very little interaction among students, even in classes where it would have been easy to implement. Each week was the same - read, post (but with no interaction), turn in ...

What I have noticed is that no school on this website has taken such a relentless pounding as Northern Arizona University has. Look at "The Count"......my god.....about 90% negative comments. If you take the time to look at some of the forums on this website, this school wins that dubious honor of being 'the worst college ever' based on student reviews and comments. I know that every person has to do their own research and make their own decisions however I must say, there must be a reason why about 90% of the comments are negative. Be Careful with this one!!!!!!!

I had thought (briefly) about NAU when researching where to do my masters. I was out-of-state. I found the tuition costs to be outrageously high and decided on a better university in Arizona. I am so glad that I attended the other school and not NAU. Just read the reviews above. As one poster in this forum wrote, "They average 1.5 on a scale of 1 to 5." That is the bottom 30% of the scale. I would recommend any other regionally accredited university in Arizona (except University of Phoenix)over NAU.

That is fine and good for you but just look at these reviews. They average 1.5 on a scale of 1 to 5. That is beyond horrible. How can you explain that?

I am a graduate... I find some of these reviews shocking. I have a wonderful experience. I believe with in college you get what you put into it. You really have to be dedicated and practice time management when taking courses here. I would give my overall experience an A...

Well; I had this school is a possibility. After reading these three reviews, I decided that this is definitely not the place for me! There are many to choose from; who needs this university?
Since I am out-of-state, this school is ridiculously expensive as well. I am going elsewhere.

Does anyone have anything positive to say about this school? I noticed they are very, very expensive for out-of-state students.
