Troy University-Montgomery

I will be graduating from Troy soon. Online education was the best decision I've ever made. My classes were/are very challenging and I feel "educated." However, my biggest complaint is that advisement is almost non-existent for the online student. My advice is this: Troy is a great online college, BUT you should always always pay attention to your degree plan and make sure you are following the right plan each term. They won't do that for you, even though they say they will.

This is my second year attending Troy's online grad school.  I must say the tuition is very affordable and course offering are great.  Unfortunatly, about 25% of my instructors seem absent.  More interestingly, there is no oversight or definition of "timely" feedback or instructor interaction from administration.  This has been one of the most frustrating aspects of attending Troy.  I read posts on other schools that brick-n-mortar schools with online extensions are better, but according to whom if the instructions leave you to teach yourself.  It surprises me that a state university with program accreditation has no oversight of the instructors interaction. I was just reading the other day that they will be requiring students to mount camera devices for sight/sound to make sure students are not cheating on exams that are not proctored.  I suggest having one for the instructions also.
