Poor Organizational Skills For Enrollment

I am really hoping my experience will be positive but right now I'm very concerned. I have been trying to enroll here for 4 months. I have been given 3 enrollment dates, filled out 2 FAFSA's and keep getting bumped around and told "they will get back to me soon". I then have to email again asking what's going on. I'm currently less then a week away from starting classes and they still haven't sorted out my enrollment!!!! While they get back to you right away when you email or call they keep telling me "you will hear from us soon." This should have been sorted out a long time ago. I've attended college before and have never had to wait until the last minute to know what is going on.

Good College for my needs.

This will be my second degree program at this university;and the bad comments are funny because with so many colleges fighting for your money just pick one that suits your needs and go. Columbia Southern University is not for everyone and maybe if I was 20 then a brick and mortar would be OK but for working older adults this is great and besides unless you went to a elite university "Harvard, Yale" who cares where your degree is from.

Great School

I graduated from this institution last October. Just now getting around to writing a review. The staff was tremendous and very helpful at all times. If you make a low grade in a particular class or a sbject, they contact you to see if you need any assistance. The classes were fairly easy except for the math classes. If I made low marks on quizzes its becasue I waited to the last minute. I recommend this school if you are going into business for yourself and you want the 'know how'. I don't think the accredidation will carry you far in the 'real world'. Although in today's world, everything is at your fingertips, including getting an education.I will not be continuing with this school because I desire to use my BA towards my Master's in Psychology.Good blessings to you.

Best program for working adults

Bachelor of Science / Marketing - March 1, 2008

I completed CSU's Bachelor of Science in Marketing in April 2007. I had previously attended a traditional four-year university as well as a local community college. Columbia Southern University was initally one of many options that I reviewed prior to returning to complete my bachelor's. The cost savings of CSU, combined with the focus for working adults and a flexible schedule, were the key to my decision. I could not afford the traditional four-year programs near my home, nor could I quit my job to attend classes with inconvenient starting and end times. Also, due to my job requiring significant travel, I could not attend the required number of in-class sessions. From day one, the personnel of CSU were as committed to my educational goals as I was. I had never experienced that level of commitment from the school that I had paid thousands annually to attend. The program proved rigorous. I learned concepts that I could quickly apply in my working environment. Every class requires significant writing, a skill that helps me become a better communicator within the business world. The best feature was the focus on real-world business applications. Too many business classes are theoretical, but have no value when applied to business environments. CSU classes are thoroughly grounded in daily business operations. I cannot say enough about the value of the education that I received during my studies to complete the BS/Marketing program. After completion of my degree, I applied for a position that would directly be related to my studies. Because of the concepts I learned, I was able to earn the position and immediately make an impact for my company. I have received much praise for the value I bring to my firm and I believe that much of that rests on the education I received at CSU. My employer believes it as well. When I mentioned that I was going to pursue my MBA through CSU, I was offered tuition reimbursement. The value of the education I received was outstanding. I learned to think critically, apply my knowledge in real-world applications, and sharpened my time management skills. Juggling a full-time job with travel and pursuing a degree is a difficult task. CSU's flexible program made it possible for me to pursue my educational goals and give me a solid foundation to build a career.
