A good school
April 16, 2012
This is a good school. Studying for Masters degree Have never experienced any major problems. The only complaint is that with financial aid, it takes longer than it used to to get in touch with someone.
Gotten too big to care
March 2, 2012
The 300 and 400 level classes are still very challenging. I've not had a single professor on "auto-pilot" for any of these courses and in fact spend 15 hours or more a week on homework just to keep up with two 8 week classes. The 100 and 200 level classes, in 2004-2005, were very challenging as well. Now...not so much. I am currently taking 2 classes I don't need in order to refresh my memory ...
Excellent Experience
February 29, 2012
I am in my 3rd semester at APU working towards a M.A in National Security Studies. I have been completely satisfied with the program and the instructors. I was suprised to read negative reviews regarding the support of APU staff and the financial aid office. Whenever I've called or emailed the school, they have been extremely helpful. The financial aid process is completely online so if you need someone to hold your hand, this may ...
WORSE COLLEGE
February 1, 2012
The college is a JOKE!. they want you to spend 100+ hours on filing paper work for " SAP" appeals then tell you its not enough paper work. they gave me the run around for weeks and i was very nice and calm with them. i had an issue with a teacher and they didnt follow through. the teacher got away with giving me a bad grade and they did NOTHING about it. they want ...
Take Responsibility for your Education

(AMU) I find it interesting in the reviews here, as they are quite the opposite from every experience I have had with this university. At this time, I have completed 18 undergraduate courses with them and can comment intelligently about various encounters. For those using federal financial aid, the process is all fairly automated – get it right the first time when apply and stop blaming AMU for your lack of oversight and ill preparedness. ...
Horrible Financial Department/Classes
January 18, 2012
As a person who has personally taken many courses online I am writing this review on behalf of my husband who attended AMU last year. The classes were ok, some were just a joke in that the material was outdated or the work completed was not read however had a grade. The most frustrating thing about AMU/APUS is the Financial Aide Department and getting in touch with someone who knows what they are doing. Turns ...

Attending this school has become a nightmare for me. I began class on Nov.7 2011. My tuition was covered loans were requested on Dec. 7. The day APUS refunded my loans on Dec.16 i was told i had to Dec. 20 to have some documents in or my loans would be return. So i immedately sent them in only o be told my loans were return on Dec.16 the exact same date the documents were requested ...

I recently graduated from APU with a MA degree in criminal justice. It took about three years. The classes were small, the professors were challenging, just as any solid school. APU will not hold your hand and push you through. Do the work, work hard and you will get your degree. Put forth unacceptable work and you will fail; simple concept. Some have said that not having a recognized name places a shadow of doubt. Well, ask yourself if every school in the nation is well known. Of course not! The most important fact to ascertain when seeking a collegiate institution is that the school is properly accredited by one of the seven major agencies within the U.S. Department of Education. APU is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. I was hired as an adjunct instructor with another institution within six weeks of graduation; that speaks for itself. I would highly recommend APU.
