Three Degrees
March 20, 2012
I just completed my third degree at DeVry/Keller. My first degree (1996) was an AS in ET and I had a job(s) waiting for me after graduation with help from Devry. The second degree (BS in Technical Management), I completed on 2009 in hopes of furthering my understanding of current management practices for my current job. My third degree (MBA Information Systems), I completed end of 2011 in hopes of getting a better position with ...

Thank GOD I switched schools!
February 16, 2012
I wanted to go back to school on-line because I have to much going on in my l life right now. I picked devry. Everyone was helpful with all the papers I needed with calling me and I never had to wait or leave a voice mail for any of the advisers. I had told a friend where I was enrolled and she said have they sent you anything via snail mail. Well no it ...

Business Mgmt.

Going to devry ruined my life, Costs about $60,000 for bachelors program and after interest on loans paying for next 15 years I will end up [aying over $100,000, ne credibiliity in these degrees in job market, no jobs. Can not pay loans. This for profit school is a scam. Stay away go to conventional schools that may take longer but degrees have more credibility and will be much cheaper.

What a waste of my time and education
July 27, 2011
This university is all about making profit and not concerned as much in helping the student. When we brought up some issues to the university about help we needed and why they didnt offer help to the students who work during the day and come to school at night they were dismissive as if we didn't matter. They blamed us for their mistakes and shortcomings. I couldn't believe the responses from the university. Some of ...

DeVry Academics/Jobs

Overall the courses at DeVry were somewhat challenging. I graduated in June 2011 with a BS in Computer Information Systems. I wasn't always the most studious in HS,because I actually didn't care. I felt sometimes I was the smartest person in the classes, because quite frankly there are some people who don't belong in college. The teachers for the most part are very knowledgeable and courteous. DeVry is very good for people who need a ...

Wow!!

It's true what they say about for-profit schools. I am very unhappy after attending DeVry University. In the end it all comes down to the institution making profit as opposed to providing high-standard education. The instructors taught very well, however, my high school courses were a lot more beneficial to me then the classes DeVry offers. I had two friends who wanted to attend and I advised them that if they have money to waste ...

DeVry Profits Soar From Unethical Business Practices
January 27, 2011
Schools like DeVry only exist to make money, Not to educate, and each one is infamous for putting out uneducated and unprepared students. DeVry, ITT, etc. are glorified diploma mills who are helping to ruin the value of a college education by flooding the job market with meaningless degrees. Every employer I've talked about this with regards these schools as a joke and some even see a "degree" from one of these as an instant ...

I just graduated from DeVry in Technical Management class of 2011. I used to work with the 2nd largest company in the world & I am proud to say that many top global engineers came from DeVry. Of course, they also had their certification & some previous experience. If you graduate from any college without previous experience, you're looking at entry level positions.

The classes are a lot of hard work & it's not an easy school to say the least. The professors are top grade individuals that have worked for companies like Shell & Chevron for 20+ years. Some are lawyers & you just can't ask for better teachers.

All the curriculum is relevant; however, these are accelerated classes & they are not for everyone. If you think this is a school like University of Phoenix, where you're going to pay & there won't be any tests, so you don't have to study, think again! I have an applied associates from my local community college, I also attended UOP for 1 year, so I know what I'm talking about. I left UOP because I wasn't getting any type of education.

If you attend DeVry you will do homework on a weekly basis & most of it is not easy. You will be reading a lot of chapters & you will need to remember what you read. You will spend hours of dedication to your class or you will fail because there are no makeups most of the time. Most students attend some type of tutoring because getting behind is not an option for those that care.

If you have unrealistic expectations, that's your own problem. If you don't get any other paper than your diploma, you won't get certs & won't at the very least join organizations pertinent to your studies, then most employers will not take you seriously. A degree is for your empowerment, but it doesn't do it all for you. You have to realize how many other people also have degrees that are willing to do what you aren't. If you have a dipolma on hand, you're competing with everyone that has one too & that means you're competing with the best of the best, so get used to the competition.

I asked for a transcript review on two different BS programs I was interested in. Two different evaluators took the same information and provided me two totally different evaluations for the same classes that were common to the two programs. One took all my math credits, but none of my English while the other took all of my English but none of my Math. And of course, they both said that I needed to take the placement tests. Since all my credits were from major 4 year universities, I was a little confused as to the evaluation process DeVry uses. I never did receive an answer to why or how these two evaluations could be so different for the same classes. I dropped the notion of attending DeVry at that point.
